You Want Points? Check it out.

There seems to be a preoccupation with the points system and the gaining of points on articles etc by some JUsers.

I had a walk about Win Custom after reading Little Whips article about snobby skinners etc and came across this article. I do not know if they have a points system in WC or not, but if the amount of replies is anything to go by, the points for his article must be sky high. The article is 245 pages long with over 12000 replies.

So those of you that are looking for points, why not try a "pointless" article (hehe) like this one?

Well according to some,  I've already written "pointless" articles so doing one like this would probably be a good switch

Interesting article too!  Yours I mean.

Those won't get you many points.

You get lots of points by getting lots of readers.

I wrote an article as Frogboy called "Best SKins of 2006". You want to talk about being robbed of points or whatever, JU, for some reason, doesn't have it listed under Frogboy.  But anyway, because it was so widely read, it received millions of points -- more than all of the top 50 blogs combined. And it only has a couple dozen responses.  But it was read by millions of people.

The key to getting points is getting lots of readers. Not lost of responses.

Draginol, stop being so serious all the time. This is not a serious suggestion on getting points, it is a jestful dig at placing importance on points.

I do appreciate where you are coming from though, explaining how points work.

No article is pointless (as in senseless)Trudy. You write what you write, if someone does not like your style, so what? There is always someone out there that will read it.

LOL. Poison, if you actually knew me, you know I'm rarely serious.

But I will answer questions or address issues pretty reflexively.

That's cool. I have been reading and am enjoying your articles you listed on the featured page. You have written some really interesting stuff. Lots of stuff I would not dream of commenting on as I am totally ignorant on the subjects at hand. I try not to get involved with words too much as I tend to get carried away.

Still, so long as you are chilling at some point and not working all the time!

The 24 referrals on the other article are a good point getter as well.

Is there a point to the points or is it simply an arbitrary point of contention?
