How long can start button be ? or maxmimum width ?

hey I'm going to start a new skin in a little while and I was wondering what is the maximum width a start button can have ? you know those windows vista orbs I have 5 that are in different colors and I wanted the skin to show all five orbs in the taskbar is this possible or would I have to resize the orbs just a little bit to make them fit well with the skin ? I plan to call this skin Miami Heat allstars. also is their a way for me to change xp login screen to my style ?

thanks for the software. also if somebody knows the maximum width of the start button please let me know. I know the start button can be in 40 maximum height
