Hopefully Tomorrow Is The Big Day

As dispatch didn't have anything easy for me to do today I spent the day mostly just resting, walking around a bit, and trying to make sure I'm as rested and comfortable as possible for tomorrow's visit to the witch doctor. I'm hoping he will go ahead and release me to return to work full time next week. My back is still a bit stiff and sore but I've worked with it feeling a lot worse than this so it's nothing I can't manage.

I walked over to Appleby's for dinner this evening. I had a pretty good dinner and a couple of beers, but I left soon after I finished eating as I want to be well rested (and not hung over) tomorrow morning. I'm going to spend a nice quiet evening just watching the boob tube and relaxing. After a couple of weeks here, I don't know how much more rest I can take. LOL

The bad thing is that once I do finally get back on the road I can't afford to head home for at least a couple of weeks as I'm going to need to make some cash. Worker's Comp is supposed to be sending me some money, I think they owe me something like $1600-$1800 at this point but so far I haven't seen a dime of it and my house payment is due now. I sure hope it shows up soon. I paid my bills for last month except for my wireless internet service and XM radio service. I'm hoping I can get some money and pay those before they shut me off. I hate paying reconnect fees.

Ah well, life goes on. Whatever happens, happens, but I can still hope for the best tomorrow. I feel pretty confident that he's going to release me back to work.

Yeah, inordinate payment delays are pretty much the rule with workers' comp in Canada too. Sometimes I think these frustrating delays are intentional.

I didn't get around to properly setting the wireless access today, but will use your suggestions tomorrow. At least I know I have a proper driver.

When I had my surgery, I was laid up (told not to work) for a week.  And I was going stir crazy!  You have been at it now for 2 weeks, and your job is much more active.  I can only imagine.

Best of luck today!

Yeah, those people don't actually care that we have bills to pay.

As for the wireless, I'd highly suggest that you start with turning off all encryption and try to establish a connection on open system. Wireless can be a bit frustrating in Linux thanks to the hardware folks refusing to release proper Linux driver modules. If you get it to work that way then try your encryption.

Yeah, playing couch potato is no fun for those of us who aren't normally of the lazy variety.

Thanks.

Thanks. It did go well this morning. I'm going to try and cast on that darned sock again over the weekend so I can have it ready to knit on once I get back into my normal routine. I've found it hard to concentrate on the knitting while on these blasted painkillers, but once I'm back on the road and into my normal routine again that shouldn't be a problem.
