Which and Why?

Seeing as how the beta has been out for a couple of days, I figured its about time a thread was started on which ship seams to be the favorite of Galactic Czars.

For me its the Akkan class cruiser. First and foremost it appears to be a converted space Cruise Liner, and second who doesn't like a colony ship that can go toe-to-toe with other Capital vessels... Oh and the Ion Bolt Cannon and Improved Targeting isn't a bad bonus either.

I am beginning to favor the Akkan as well. If the carrier had more fighters, it might be much cooler.

same here, as its has a long firing range. But id like it to keep its range. So it would move to avoid being fired apon

My favorite so far is the Sova Carrier. It's loads of fun to interrupt trade routes and steal money with Embargo while you're busy blowing up their crap. Missile Batteries give it great firepower. And Heavy Fighters is a great-looking ability for being passive. But it's hard to tell if it actually works.

You get 3 fighter squads at level 4. I'm not sure how much more.

My only real complaint about it is that its high power ability (instant fighter rebuild) doesn't seem very useful compared to the other ships high power abilities (Armistice,Missile Barrage, etc.).

You can get 5 squads at level 10 with sova, they are also my fav.

I gotta say I love the carrier, when it gets higher level it doubles (at least) the number of fighters, and I absolutely adore the missile batteries it drops down, sometimes i warp into a system and wait for it to drop a few as well as use up it's fighters and bombers, then warp out, and let the missile batteries wipe some more out while my fighters and shields recharge outside
