Twin Worlds

What if there were two planets in a single gravity well?

The different types of planets in Beta 1 are quite interesting, but I'd like to add one to the list; twin worlds. Maybe a planet with a moon almost as large as itself, or an asteroid field with a couple of large enough rocks, but it would be interesting to have a couple of systems with twin planets. It could really add a random strategic advantage for various sectors, and it would make for interesting battles if two factions managed to colonize one apiece.

I'd like some planets to have moons that can be colonized and mined, more so than the dual planet idea....

Hmm, moons would be cool. They would also further increase the importance of planet zones that have them.

I'd like for all the terran planets skins to not look the same. Guess that will be fixed later though.

Hey, are there gas giants? (Star Wars ships need tibanna gas from them to add some kick into their weapons )

I don't think so... it seems the only planets in here are habitable planets. Unless you count the stars themselves...

that said, I think it would be cool to have gas giant gravity wells with colonizable moons.

I'm for the gas giants idea...uncolonizable but resource rich.

I also quite like the twin planets idea, could live without it, but it would be nice.

The moon idea would be super easy to add, and maybe give the option to put the shield generator on there if the planet does have a moon, else leave the shield generator like it is?

Anyone else notice the shield generator builds facing away from the plant then once its finished being constructed it flips around and aims at the planet?

No gas giants?!

Well I gues thats what modding is for.
