Some questions

Hi there, just found out about this game from Sword of the stars forum

I just have to say first that this game just looks awsome! I am really temted to try the beta but on the other hand, its more exciting to wait and see the hole game ^^

and now some questions:
- will the game have a flat movement plane (like sots, genesis, starcraft, etc.) or is going to be 3d movement like homeworld?

- as I´ve read on the forums, it seems like there is going to be a LOT of techs to aquire, but on the screens with the beta guide, it doesnt look like there is that many techs?

- Its wonderfull that the ships is going to be able to gain levels,( I get the feeling that you tend to care more, not to let the ships get killed when they can level up) but are the levels going to have such an impact on the ships fightinh ability that it is better to have them retreat from battle, than just building up new ships? (like in Sword of the stars, in later games you can just send a gigantic fleet into death, and like 2-3 turns later you have a new fleet, and that makes so I really dont care about my ships)

Welcome!

+ Sins has both. You can move your ships on the same plane (default) or you can move things in 3D space.

+ Each race (TEC, Vasari and Advent) will have 80 techs each; some techs have multiple levels.

+ You won't want to lose your high level capital ships, as they are quite powerful. All cap ships are expensive and valuable, but it would be folly to not try and save your higher level vessels from destruction if you can so you don't lose their abilities.

By losing abilities, do you mean that as ships gain rank theyll get new abilities?

Man, I hope its not like the hero system in WC3. It was annoying to have your entire army defeated by one single unit.

That is a lot of techs to research, I can't wait for a week long game!

I foresee a lot of capital ships fleeing losing battles in hopes of fighting another day!

it is spelled.... cowardice

and its not cowardice if my 2nd fleet is attacking your home world, as the deception has paid off...

If you were actually intelligent then you would play the Vsari and use their special abilities.

See Schem would have thought of that.

I was attacking you with the Vsari! At least in my head, as the game isn't out yet!

See, if you actually were, then you wouldnt need two fleets

Nope, hah, look in the ships information.

Oh wait, its not there anymore.

But the REAL Schem has been around when it was.

So I have clearly beaten you

Shame on you.

I wasnt ever at the old forums, all I know is the great reliability of these(sarcasm).

the old forums were really, really nice actually.
I liked everyone's quotes
*GASP* could it even be...
my guesses now have:
Karmashock (unlikely, not like this)
or could it be FATAL!!!
huh... just a guess
it is spelled.... cowardice

I also don't point out the myriad mistakes of a person with english as a second (third... fourth?) language.

an occasional correction, but not all the minor excusable stuff.

Its my third language. Spanish would be my fourth. I have a total of five so sorry I cant spell everything right.

Plus, gittery fingers .

geez, five?
I have trouble enough with learning a second...

I am forgetting them slowly. Barely have any German vocabullary left, and my french grammar and reading is horrible. Spanish could be better, but Im relearning it in school. Russian and English are currently my strong suits. Might pick up a bit of Chinese from my friend.

Plan to take Japanese in college.

I like to be well rounded, plus I plan to travel a lot as soon as I leave college. Having an uprouted childhood might have cause me some attachment issues, but I dont really like to be in one place too long.
