Back To The Doc Tomorrow

I have to go back to the doctor tomorrow for a follow up exam. As my back is showing signs of healing, I'm hoping I'll be able to return to work soon.

I know my back isn't up to returning to work tomorrow or probably even the next day, but I have hopes that they'll only recommend a few more days of rest. I know returning to work too soon would be a big mistake and probably put me right back in the same shape I was, but I don't want this to drag on for too much longer either.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that's all it will amount to tomorrow. I am feeling somewhat better, which is a really good sign. With any luck I'll be walking normally again in a couple of more days and can sit down for more than 10 minutes at a time.

I had a very hot, steamy shower again this afternoon that really helped ease the back muscles a lot. I hated to get out but after 30 minutes I figured I'd start turning into a prune and grudgingly shut off the water. LOL

When I am allowed to go back to work I am going to make a point of relgiously wearing the lumbar support belt I bought at Wally World. It was the best one they had and seems like it'll do the job pretty well.

Thanks. I'm trying to follow doctor's orders despite the fact that it goes against my nature

BTW I have a dirty little secret. I hate going to my own doctor. It's much easier to be on his side of the desk. Nothing worse than that feeling of loss of control. It's like, what is he going to find next? Being a doctor sure doesn't make it easier to be a patient! I do it anyway, of course.

Good luck. DON'T PUSH IT. Back injuries suck and will linger forever. (one sprain from overlifting, one nasty field hockey injury.)

Once bitten twice warned.  I dont expect you will forget that belt in the future.  Good luck with the visit.

I've heard that doctors make the worst patients, but I do try to give you guys a run for your money on that one
