Your Reccomendation

First off I would like to say hello, Im new here though I have read most of the forum

Secondly, this game looks amazing, I have not been this genuinely excited about a game in a really long time and the best part is I just found it, so now I only have to wait a few months, only days for beta (hopefully).

I recently obtained (cough) a copy of Galactic Civilations 2 Dreadlords, this is first 4X game I have sat down and played for more than a ½ hour. I was / am very impressed with the developing / publishing company, the fact that they don’t copy protect their software and release updates that have really changed the game for the better all in the name of good customer service speaks volumes. I have now purchases Dreadlords as well as the add on pack and am enjoying them thoroughly. I have played Homeworld and Homeworld 2 as well as Nexus (though I didn’t like it past the first 6 or 7 missions).

After playing GalCiv2 I found myself wishing for multiplayer, just to play with one of my friends and started searching, that’s how I found Sins of a Solar Empire and almost immediately pre-ordered it. My question for you is, what games in this subdued genre should I be trying? I am sure there are many that I have missed. Please try to keep it in the Sci-Fi category, I tried Civ 4 but just couldn’t get into it.

Thirdly, How can I get into Beta? Can I ram ships? Can I capture ships? Can I hide behind planets?

Just kidding

You already have (by preordering), it's just a matter of waiting for it to be opened (should be later this month).

Hehe, sorry, my attempt to be funny apparantly failed miserably I was just asking the questions I see asked alot in my readings as an exaggeration, thats what my Just kidding was refering to, should have put it on the same line.

I have all my SoaSN questions answered through searching and just reading for fun. Especially the beta FAQ that needs to be stickied, it should be a must read before you can create an account

As for getting back to the original question of this post, a really good TB4X game is Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. It's the same guy who did the Civilization series, but this one has a sci-fi theme. It's pretty old (1999), but I still play it with my friend. Definitely a great strategy game.

Very cool, I don't care too much about the graphics (still play fallout from time to time). Ill check it out. Thanks!
