Pounding My Head On The Desk

Argh!!!!!!

It seems that percocet, valium, and sock knitting don't mix well at all. I had the ribbed top of the sock completed and had started the heel flap. I totally messed it up. Totally. It was a disaster.

I tried to frog it back to the beginning of the heel flap but just couldn't manage to get the stitches picked up right again. In frustration I frogged the whole thing back to a pile of yarn. Arghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've cast on the 48 stitches again but haven't started knitting again. I'm going to pound my head on the desk for a while first. The ribbed top was perfect. Not a single mistake at all. I was really proud of it. And I just killed it.

In case you haven't guessed I am really, really pissed at myself right now.

Damn!

Heh, I can dig it. Like I learned years ago how it's a bad idea to drink and weld...

Yeah that sounds like it could be a minor problem. Like maybe burning down the garage

Or drink and cut lumber for a deck?

It is not the activity, but the activations.

Sorry about that.

That's so frustrating. I would say just buy the six pack at wally world but then you don't have the satisfaction of saying you knitted it yourself.

Yeah, it's not having the socks, it's the enjoyment of knitting them. It's very relaxing. Well, except when ya screw up and have to frog it, but that's part of it too.

See, a smart person would thread in a life line at a critical point (like starting the heel flap) so if a big mistake is made you just frog back to the life line and can restart from there. Sadly, I am not that smart. I know about lifelines, but have yet to actually use one. I guess I like to live dangerously

Oof. I can see a hat or something, but a sock? You must have been stoned.

I just tried joining the cast on (circular Magic Loop) and couldn't even manage to get that right. I'll have to let the sock go until I'm a bit more coordinated again.

Maybe a nice hat is in order.
