In the walkthrough of the beta it goes into how Trade Ships are an important part of your interstellar empire. When destroying enemy trade ships how much does it impact their economy? Or when your trade ships are destroyed how much is your own economy affected? Is their other ways to produce currency/credits other then trading?

And are their computer controlled pirates as well?

Your city's will generate cash, that can be used for stuff like upkeep (i think). And used on the market where you can buy more resources

And are their computer controlled pirates as well?

yep, but how they will act, is still unknown
