1. General

Q: When will the beta start?
A: It will begin the 27th of march

Q: How do i get in the beta?
A: You will have to pre-order it, you can do so here https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/store/

Q: How long will the beta submissions be open?
A: It will be open for about 1 week after the beta 1 starts. If you miss beta 1, you'll get another chance when beta 2 launches in a few months.

Q: How will I get the beta?
A: You will be able to to download it with the Stardock Central program and can be found here https://www.stardock.com/sdnet_login.asp and the key will be send to you by email

Q: Is there a non-disclosure agreement (NDA)?
A: No! You are free to post screenshots, commentary, and even make in-game videos






2. Tech

Q: Whats the requirement to play in the beta?
A: Minimum specs (in general) will be: 1.8 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM (1 GB RAM in Vista), and a 128 MB DirectX 9 3D video card

Q: If I pre order this game, will I be able to download the beta1 on another PC with High Speed, and then bring it home and install it on my PC?
A: With most products downloaded via Stardock Central, you can archive them, burn them, install them on an offline machine, then make a trip to the net machine and back to activate. I can't say for certain if that will be the exact case with sins, but it's a good probability. Note you do need to be able to install SDC on the net connected machine in order to do this

Q: What is the Shipping cost?
A: $5 to the US and $10 international. NOTE: THIS IS ONLY FOR WHEN THE GAME IS RELEASED, IN AUGUST 2007 No beta disc's will be shipping.

Q: What happens to my money when i pre-order?
A: The money will be stored and locked on your bank account until the beta is released

Q: Can I get the game in another language then english?
A: Stardock will only be selling the final version in English. Other language versions (French, Spanish, German, Italian and Dutch) may be made available after release via Stardock Central. This is all still pretty undetermined, however.

Q: How do i cancel my pre-order?
A: You can do that by emailling [email protected]








3. Ingame knowledge

Q: What will I be able to do in the Beta?
A: The beta will allow you to play Skirmish only. Multiplayer will come in beta 2, that will launches in a few months.

Q: Will there be a demo as well?
A: Not for a while, if at all.

Q: Will I be able to play all sides?
A: For beta 1 players will only be able to play as, and against, the Trader Emergency Coalition. The other races will be made available as the beta progresses.

Can't say for certain, but I don't think so. Whatever works best for testing at the time.  When beta 2 comes out Stardock Central will just overwrite any changed files. You shouldn't have to uninstall and re-download everything (though you can if you want).

Hard beta date hopefully next week. Waiting to hear from Ironclad on a few things first. Still looking good for March in any event, however.

Rather than giving those figures in euros, it might be a better idea to give them in dollars since that's what they are--shipping for direct-ordered boxes has historically been $5 in the US, and $10 international.

i do believe it's the date of the beta's date that date the beta's date to date the release date of the beta is to be release next week by the dates of the beta's date for the beta's release date.

The yellow and the orange look fine, just change the blue to the one just darker.


It's more visible with the quote background behind it.

I sure hope we get to try out beta this month. I have not been this excited about a game in a really long time. The fact that we get to try beta just for pre-ordering somthing I would have pre-ordered anyway is icing on the cake.

LOL, actually I have been out with a cold.  

We're looking good for the beta this month gang. If nothing evil pops up, they'll be a formal announcement tomorrow that will set the date, etc.
