how can i tell which styles are for vista and which are for xp in the gallery?

Sorry if this has been asked before, or if my noobishness is showing, but how do I tell which themes in the gallery are only for vista and which will work on my xp machine? or will all themes work on both?

thanks.

So far as I know, ALL will work on XP AND Vista but so far only a few have "Vista Specific" versions. You'll see them listed in the drop down box to the right under the skin preview on the Windowblinds Configuration page. Adrenaline and Optix (Master Skin) are good examples.

Some of the very old ones (pre XP) might not work fully on Vista, but basically if the skin has XP parts (startmenu, taskbar) then it should work fine on Vista.

If you find a skin that does not, please let us know so we can look into why it does not work.

I'm gonna take the plunge and buy objectdock
I hope you meant ObjectDesktop.  And as an aside, ObjectDock is not part of ODNT.

I love Object Desktop, but since I installed Vista, I haven't been able to get a WB to work right. And forget DreamScapes. Only about two thirds of them work, and not all the time. It's going to be at least a year before everything is alright. Remember XP, or any version of Windows for that matter.

XP themes on Vista work fine IF they follow certain design parameters...if a theme follows basic XP design it will translate pretty well...get a bit outside the box skinning wise and they work...they just dont look good.

Winc needs a Vista compatible WB section...None of my themes work well with Vista, with the possible exception of tore up XP...because it is modelled directly on XP...

til wb and skinstudio versions are updated to Vista specific specs...all skins will be a bit of a compromise...notice all new compatible skins folllow certain design similarities...simplicity and color that works with that horrid Vista toolbar.(bluish)
