Jerky mouse response

I bought Multiplicity a couple of weeks ago and installed it on 2 XP machines connected on the same ethernet switch.

Everything worked very well until today I had to reset my switch as traffic through it had become very slow and I installed a McAfee upgrade. The remote machine changed ip address from x.x.x.5 to x.x.x.3 so I changed the setup of Multiplicity on the main machine to match.

I can move the mouse on the remote machine now but it is jerky and delayed and therefore unusable.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Andy

Assuming they are not connected via Wireless, it sounds like either the switch or McAfee is delaying the Multiplicity packets.

Multiplicity packets are time sensitive and are set so they are not batched up.

I had kind of come to that conclusion myself. Do you have nay suggestions as to how I might improve the situation. Have you come across this issue with other McAfee users?

I am pretty sure that the problem isn't related to the switch as I've moved both connections to another switch and the problem remains.

If that's the case then it must be McAfee. You should try a different antivirus program. McAfee has many other problems.

You might want to try to turn off the Active Monitoring feature of McAfee and see if that helps.

(I find that not using an antivirus program at all works fine)
