beta pushed back to the end of March...

Well from the fine Beta write up (WWW Link), I post the most painful sentence of the entire post.... "we've decided to push the beta to the end of March"... It's life... I want a great game and I am willing to wait...

The damn write up makes me want to play even more... Luckily I am stuck on the 4th mission in Dark Avatar and I really should beat that before sins is out, else I'll prolly never play it again, lol...

No offense Stardock, but Sins > GalCiv2:DA

law and order has returned to the forums, we even have report post buttons now!

I get the feeling that any *cough* immature *cough* people who debate with me may unwieldy use that button.
and I bet that SD moderators would delete it rather than read through everything in my long, always correct, arguements.

We try to avoid deleting anything unless absolutely neccessary. Pretty much the only rule is to keep things friendly and to keep the language PG-13.

i can handle pg-13!

ah... so that means I can't replace every other word with a four letter word?

Yea, it's a bummer about having to push it further back.

The problem with early betas with the game being so high profiled is that we'd probably get a negative buzz if it was released too early.  Too many casual players would assume that it's "close to final".

In our previous game betas, we always released them relatively early on in development because we had only a hard core group of players who understood that "beta 1" was more like alpha.  We still got a number of people who woudl scream "This is an alpha!!!11!" but most people knew what we were trying to do.

But with all the coverage Sins has gotten, there's a lot of people paying very close attention to what we're releasing.

So instead, we're trying to share with you the actual game mechanics as they're evolving to get your input and then prepare for beta 1.  But on the bright side, Beta 1 isn't some mutiplayer only beta, it's single player with the multiplayer coming later. So you will definitely get to play it in depth.

When you guys say single player, you mean single player skirmish mode? When I hear single player I think, campaign...

Agh....well, we can't really help it. We just have to sit back and wait...wait and wait untill we all go insane....

It's sandbox mode only. No campaign.

Hopefully you guys won't be spending too much time studying supreme commander during March!

Kudos to Ironclad. I appreciate their honesty in telling us about the [minor] delay. I'd rather wait, and have a better more solid game, beta or otherwise

Thanks for always being communicative with your community. ARrrrr.

I hate the Homeworld and Homeworld 2 campaigns. It felt like they were trying to force a story line in to the game format.

Bring on the Beta....No, wait......

BRING ON SINS

Since my 3 year old machine grinds to a halt (with a 2 Meg processor) when I get to the close of the second scenerios of Supreme Commander; I can't wait for SOASE to release the beta!
