Rich ppl are not necessarily brats

rich kids are always brats
rich wives are usually brats
rich men are usually not brats. although if its inheritance money, they apply under teh "kids" section

generally my qualification is this: if you work for the cash, you deserve the cash. but if you dont work for the money (children of rich people) you certainly do not deserve the money.

I spend too much time with people who have nothing but money flowing down from their parents. the greatest part about it is that these are always the bleeding heart people.
I call it AlGoreism, pulling an Al-Gore, or just an AlGory move on their part.

lets put it this way; you're at dangerously high risk.

Dude, i dont live in a mansion, i may have some "luxuries" but nothing fansy like Bill Gates. I drive a camery (not a ferrari). I dont have a maid. I do chores. That computer was necessary to play Rainbow 6: Vegas. I even share some of my money. I occationally buy my friends games. I dont shove my fortunate status in other people's face.

I'll admit many rich people are snobbish and ultimately bratty, but saying ALL rich people are like that is total BS. It's just like me saying "all poor people are low life slum gangsters with no education and cant count their fingers."

Not to mention a good desktop PC is around 500-700

no, that would be a relatively powerful one.

wuuaaa.. it is?
and im thinking of buying one at the time when sins is released between 3000$-3500$ = 17.000-20.000 danish kroners.
And thats only for the PC, no screen, mouse or keyboard.
But ofcourse thats calculated by the prices i see today, might be a bit cheaper

Ehm you might want to consider buying your pc in another country. Germany for example. I'm quite shure you could buy an outstanding PC for $2000 / $2500.

http://tweakers.net/reviews/663/4 (it's a dutch site but the system specs should be readable. It's part of the january best buy guide. it's E6600, 8800GTX system for roughly 1.947 euro's and thats including a 20" widescreen TFT

Hahaha no....

I am still using my dual core pc I built last October... Nvidia's 7800GT is an excellent card that still runs most games on High/Ultra!

Kinda back on topic: When upgrading to Vista, does it overwrite my data? What I mean is will upgrading to Vista delete all my documents/programs/settings, etc?

true.
but it doesn't save you from being high risk. (dont try to prove a nonbinding statement wrong, it'll fail miserably)
Kinda back on topic

I second that. no fun trying to derail a derailed arguement.

well its not that i "cant" get a very good pc for about 2000$ but im looking for an exstrem one since its one im gonna keep for 4 or more years.

I already got a logitech g15 keyboard, logitech mx510 mouse and a 22" screen so i dont need those.
But atm im looking for something like:

Intel kentsfield 4cores (not the 2xdual-core)
At least 3gb DDR3 ram
Gotta have some new harddrives, SATA2? but i havent research into that area yet. But i will when the time comes. But im guessing that im gonna go with 2 drives internal and one external for storage.
Some 2x DX10 grafic cards either ati or nvidia, depends on whats best at that time.
And have been looking into water cooling for some time. All those fans are making alot of noise.

I'd rather buy stuff in denmark, because of some special law protection for the customers.
So i feel more safe buying hardware within the country.

When upgrading to Vista, does it overwrite my data? What I mean is will upgrading to Vista delete all my documents/programs/settings, etc?

It won't if you take the upgrade option (instead of a fresh, full install). I strongly recommend against the upgrade option, however, as it's been problematic here.

I use a Dell 5150 (moderately upgraded, 3.00 Ghz processor, 4GB RAM ,couple of extra hard drives, new fan etc) and it doesn't blink when playing SupCom, just thought I'd gloat a little bit .

It also runs Vista smoothly, surprising since it is of the XP generation. I did however go with the full install option, I backed up all necessary data and then wiped the computer clean.

That holds true for most of the past Windows operating systems being upgraded to a new one.

I run the game fine on my relatively dated P4 2.0 GHz, 1GB RAM, 7600 AGP. In addition, I will get Windows Vista when the operating system is more stable, warrants a pressing need for it, and when the funds are actually available to build a new rig to deal with the extra requirements of it.

I can build a great computer with about 1200 USD. Somethings like four gigabytes of DDR2 ram is overkill and a waste of money. Minimizing ridiculous expenditures will put you in the 1000 - 1250 USD bracket for a computer (just the computer) and it'd still run as great a full year later.
