Dodged The Bullet

The worst of the Winter storm passed North of my location. It was just high winds and sleet here instead of the foot of snow that fell where I was yesterday. The parking lot is a bit slick from the slush left over from the sleet, but that's a lot better than being buried under a bunch of snow.

I'm about 8 hours from my first stop and am getting ready to start heading that way so I can find a decent parking spot for tonight. I'll finish my coffee, fuel my truck, and start that way. With any luck it'll be an easy ride.

I hope you can avoid the mess out there.  Wintry mix is bad enough if you're in a car, never mind being stuck in a truck behind the cars or other drivers that just can't figure out how to get out of everyone's way.

Yeah, the cars make things much more interesting. I think I've pretty much avoided the worst of it but am expecting some bit of bad weather later today.
