A Mistake, Nice Customer Service, And Brrrrrrrr

I spent a little time going through the new Knit Picks Options needles again today. I noticed that the size 10 and size 10.5 looked identical to me. I broke out my needle gauge and measured them. Both pairs were 10.5. It seems they had made a mistake when assembling the kit and had given me two pairs of size 10.5 and no size 10 at all.

I called Knit Picks' customer service line and explained the mistake to the lady on the other end of the line. Her reply? "Oh goody. They do get creative back there sometimes" with a little chuckle. She then asked if I had checked the rest of the needles as well as the cables. I assured her that I had and with the exception of one cable that was a little hard to thread everything was good.

She told me to keep the extra pair of 10.5 needles and she would send me a pair of size 10 as well as a new cable.

So now I have 2 pairs of 10.5 needles and a pair of size 10 on the way, as well as an extra cable. Who could possibly ask for better service than that?

It pretty cool here today. The temps are only in the 50s and it's expected to dip down into the 30s tonight. I'll have to make sure to use the electric blanket tonight for sure. I went out to the C-store to grab some brew a few minutes ago. I dressed in typical Floridian cold weather fashion. Jeans, a sweater, and flip flops. Have to maintain some air of being in Florida ya know. Shoes and socks are for going out to dinner in fancy restaurants and some of the stuffier weddings. The last Florida wedding I attended was all swim wear and held on the beach. The bride wore a white string bikini.

Still no word from dispatch. maybe it's a good thing I went ahead and paid for another week of parking for my rig. I could be here until next week. Ah well, nothing wrong with a little extra vacation time.

I've been sort of half watching some of these dumb court room shows. They kind of remind me of a court house version of the Jerry Springer show. Mostly a bunch of trashy, ignorant, morons. Sadly, the current weather conditions are keeping the other channels from coming in clearly.

As I don't feel like riding to the grocery to pick up something for dinner tonight I think it's going to be a Papa John's night. Pizza and beer. Food fit for a king.

So...you're nit-picking with Knit Picks, huh?
(Sorry, the devil made me do it)

It's like twenty here but it's supposed to hit the upper sixties by the week end. And to think I took a couple of days off to couple with the week end and Presidents day for a smooth five-in-a-row off and here it turns off so cold! Think after I sleep in until the ungodly hour of 7:30 a.m. tomorrow I might just slip off to this casino the Cherokee Nation runs over in Oklahoma and blow a few bucks while there's no crowd and then slip over to the Big City for some Mexican food or somethin'. I dunno...

...or then again I might just say screw it and sit around the house all morning in my underwear drinking coffee.

Also a plan Sounds like my normal morning routine when I'm home. Somehow I don't think it would go over too well at a truck stop.

One of these days just for shits and giggles I'm gonna get up some morning and wander into the truck stop for coffee wearing pajamas, a robe, and some big bunny slippers (if I can find some). A night cap would be the perfect touch.

I wish it was in the 50s, but "Virginia" is headed out tomorrow, and shoes will not see my feet for 10 days!

Cool. That's one of the things I love about being home from the road. I never wear real shoes while I am home.
