Actually, you can use any program that opens .ZIP archives to open these files. WindowBlinds just saves you some time and trouble, because if you have it installed, you can automatically install the 'blind when you open it. If you really want to, though, you could extract the contents to their own directory, install WB, then open the 'blind in the configuration screen.

You will need the Windowblinds program in order to use the contents of the .wba file to apply a skin.

Here:

Once Windowblinds is installed, you can double-click on the .wba file to install the skin.

A .wba file is a renamed .zip file, renamed so as to be recognized by the Windowblinds program as a skin that it can use/apply.

Renaming the .wba to .zip will enable you to LOOK at the contents of the file but that will not enable you to install/use the skin.

You first need the program [Windowblinds] installed.

Then a .wba file can be used....

That makes things so much more complicated than need be (especially for a beginner). All you need is the program to be installed and to double click on it.

There is no free version

There is only a 60 trial (don't think it's available yet) and the paid (only For registered users & Object Desktop users)

If you have Object Desktop it's available in SDC
If you're a registered user of WB - also check SDC or go here and enter the email you purchased with

so the skin that is set after the expiration is it...cant change it? that doesnt seem right, so is there an alternative i can use to WB that will let me change my theme?

i'm pretty sure that no wb skin will be applied once the trial period expires. you'll see the normal xp or vista skin, depending on your os of choice, i'm sure.

The themes are free (most of them) but the program you have to pay for if you want to keep windows skinned.

ah, ok, now one last question, Does windows blinds disable the OS's theme system? because my theme manager in Vista isnt seeing the themes that i am putting in its folder (yes i clicked browse and found the theme)

Are you talking about a Windowblinds skin or a msstyle theme?
