Gods: Lands of Infinity Special Edition

Release question

Hi,

I am thinking of buying Gods: Lands of Infinity.

I notice that there is a Special Edition. Can I get this from TotalGaming.Net? I was not clear if the Special Edition has been released yet. If not, when will it be released?

The Special Edition isn't available yet. Cypron wants to launch the SE at retail first and onto the Internet afterwards, so while it will appear eventually, it won't be available for several months.

Will those that have already purchased LoI get the special edition for free or will it be an additional token purchase?

No, it will be an additional charge to upgrade to the Special Edition.  Pre-orders will be going up soon for the Special Edition; we'll be emailing those who already own the regular version with details on how to upgrade.

What a rip off I am very displeased. I paid $29.95 for this half finished game now I got to pay another $29.95 or $14.95 on pre-order. I should of got a refund after I beat the game in 11 hours and relized the game was 33% finished it says lands of infinity there is 10 or 12 towns after the demo. now that is infinity. cant believe I got to pay $60 and who's knows if the game is finished. What a scam that got going on over there. I think this is very wrong very wrong. I hope you guys at TGN relize and notice this and can do something about it with Cypron. I get penalize for buying a game no where finished. there was 10 or 12 towns after the demo now that is what i call infinity. It should be a free upgrade to the people that bought it. not paying $45 to $60 that we have no idea if it is even half finished. If I got to pay for the upgrade I would like a refund.

Our records show that you purchased the game in October 2006. If you wanted a refund, you should have requested one back then, as it's well past the return period now.

If you didn't like the regular version of the game, I don't see why you'd even consider buying the Special Edition.  From what we've been told, because of the royalty structure Cypron has with Ms. Cole, they cannot make this a free upgrade to existing users.

I would suggest contacting Cypron directly via their website. They may be able to give you more of a response.

I figured it would be a Free upgrade since the game was not complete. I did like the game after playing the demo that is why I bought it. I was mad after I paid for the full game there was 10 to 12 more boards. I stayed with the game cause on thier website they said they didnot finish the game cause of time restraints and were working on completeing the game. With Infinity in the name I was thinking it would be able to play for months not finish the game in 11 hours. I guess you never played it. So if i waited to get the complete game it would cost me $29.95. (right) but since I was a loyal customer and bought the game ealier I will have to pay $44.90 for the same game. I guess Infinity was a reference to the price of the game. Just glad to see You are happy selling half games and screwing your customers. I will just stop recommend this site to all my friends and family.
At least I am happy I told many others to wait to get the SE edition.

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Oh stop your whining... I bought the game a two weeks ago (unlike you who bought it last year... and for 2 tokens) and then I bought the preorder upgrade a week later. For 1 token!

This isn't some super expensive upgrade here. 15$ or 1 token is quite cheap actually.

Did the game have some unimplemented features? yes, so do most games, at least it wasn't an early beta thats unplayable due to bugs like temple of elemental evil / neverwinternights 2 / Titan Quest / etc; and it wasn't sold for the normal retail price of 50$. If you bought the original game which was complete, but lacking in features on some regards, and then bought the expansion, both in cash rather then token, then your total should have been less then buying one regular retail game. And you get to play it monthes in advance. If you bought the original and then the upgrade in tokens your total should have been 3 (aka 21$) tokens vs 2 (14$) of buying just the SE when its out in a few monthes.

So stop your whining and be grateful that TNG / Cypron decided to sell it as a cheap upgrade to existing users. Most times things like that happen you have to repurchase the "special edition" at full retail price with no discounts.
