Good vs Evil & Schizo choices?

Have any of the beta testers discovered whether schizo choices (i.e., alternately good and bad choices; good/bad choices based upon an algorithmn using as a seed the coefficient of a molecule; or some other quite silly method) are a tricky way of getting BOTH good and bad techs?

I believe that each choice 'pushes' your civ off neutral(50) towards evil(0) or good(100). Some techs are only available if you are above or below a certain number, say 30 for evil. So flipping back and forth would put you no closer to either extreme and it's available techs, although there may be other non-tech advantages to staying down the middle I'm not sure.

Could you theoretically make a bunch of evil choices to push your alignment low, research the evil techs, and then make a bunch of good choices to raise your alignment and then research the good techs???

It is theoretically possible to switch alignments, but it's not easy.

If you go good, then switch evil, it will probably be easier to accomplish than the converse. Evil choices tend to have a slightly heavier weight than good ones.

Being neutral allows you to maintain decent relations with good or evil, and stay out of the holy crusades. :D

Don't the attitute specifc techs have a set attitude number associated with them e.g. 50 is neutral. At 80 you have access to a "good" tech, at 95 a more extreme "good" tech. Drop below the threshold for a certain tech and the advances / abilities become unavailable.

Question is what happens to any ships and / or buildings that were made.....

The techs remain researched and the abilities persist regardless of your alignment. All that happens is that you can't research any new techs with a high (low) alignment requirement.
