Skins: work with WB5?

Hey all,

I have a bunch of skins I use that are primarily a little older (though not much), some of which I've found not to work with WB5, which is why I reverted to 4.6.

However, I'd like to use some newer skins as well that are made for WB5, so can anyone give any info on whether or not any of the following skins will work with WB5?

-Elsdee
-Antares
-Ktek
-Reduce (M20)
-Quasar
-Cabal
-Galaxy
-Arcadia (newer skin, but not sure)
-Transilvania
-Neo OS
-Digital 2

Any info would be greatly appreciated, so I know whether or not it's worth for me to upgrade, considering the skins I like to use on my system.

Are you sure about that? I had v5 installed a while back, and there were quite a few skins that weren't even that old that would not work properly (magic pink showing up, not skinning everything etc.).

You know these specific skins will work for sure?

The "purchased" version of WB5 works absolutely fine with all of those skins.

Yes they will work fine except WB 5.0 on XP doesn't skin the menu bars. If the menubar is of any significance to the design then it will look different than you are used to. You can turn off Per pixel borders on skins and then you will have what you are used to.

It doesn't?

The menu bar is usually always a skinned/important part of all designs...

Wouldn't turning off Per Pixel borders defeat the purpose for using 5.0 to use both old and new skins? Because then the transparencies on some of the newer skins would not work, correct?

Please let me know, as I'm a little confused on that now.

I'm using Antares right now on WB 5.49r = working fine.


about 6 or 7 builds back, I saw pink bits and on some whole parts (like on Frogboy by Pixtudio) but even that one looks okay now. frogboy does need updating though.... it's going on 6 years old
