Mouse look stops working on primary PC in games

Hey,

Im having a problem using multiplicity in games. The spesific game in question is Vanguard, and I must admidt I haven't really tried it with any other games so far, so I don't know if this is a general problem or not.

What happens is that everything works fine on both primary and secondary for a while, and then suddenly mouselook stops working on the primary PC after a while (i tried switching them around, and its allways the pirimary one).

WHen I say mouselook, this involved right-clicking, and then moving around the mouse while holding down rihgtmouse, in order to change the camera position in the game.

All other mouse functions work fine it seems. I am uncertain if it could be the right mouse button just stopping to work in general. I wil test this out and upate the post, but I do not think that is the case.

Can anyone help?

Update:

After some testing I have found that the right mouse button still seems to react in-game. (the mouse kursor disappears when holding down the right mouse button, which is normal. it just dosnt react when moving it around, as it should)

I did however find out something else, and that is that emulated keystrokes seems to also lose their ability to function when this bug happens. I use some software that allows me to send keystrokes from one PC to the other, and these keystrokes do not register at all after the bug has started and I am currently controlling the other PC with multiplicity. Once I switch over with multiplicity to the bugged machine, then they start registering again. When multiplicity is not used, the keystrokes register just fine, so this is not a bug in the other software im using.

I might be able to lend the devs an active Vanguard account for a limited time if that is needed to iron out the bug sinc this is the main reason im using multiplicity, and as it is right now it is more of hinderace than a help to be honest, especially considering there are other software solutions that can do switching between multiple computers and don't cause these problems. multiplicity still has the best feature otherwise though, so I don't really want to switch unless I have to.

Read in the forums I found this thread, and I think the issues are probaly related to mine, even though they manifest in different ways:

I am having the exact same issue in Vanguard with multiplicity.

Within say 5 minutes the mouselook no longer works. I am able to mouselook on the secondary machine, but the primary machine no longer seems to be able to send "hold down right action" . I am able to right click, but any action requiring holding down any button no longer works. I bet if you check Stigma, your left click and hold for looking around is broken as well?

Yes, that is correct. The left mouselook also dosn't work once it gets bugged.

Can anyone out there help us troubleshoot this? devs?

What happens if you press & release shift, ctrl, alt, escape, winkey (L & R) and tab with the game having focus?.  Obviously not all at once!

Shift on either side did nothing, Same with Control and alt on both sides. ESC brought up the in game menu. Windows key on either side minimized the game for me.

I have tried using Mpro 1.02 and the latest version from stardock central to no avail.

The other thing I am experiencing might be related? Unsure, but my secondary PC on the left seems to get intermittant mouse "hangs" now. I left a ping trace up the other night to see what happened when this hang occured.. and i was still able to ping the second device. Also during one of the hangs I could move the secondary mouse with a real mouse, but when trying with the main mouse.. so go.

Back to the main issue

Right click seems to work, its just not seeing a right click and "hold". I can still right click and hold on the second machine using multiplicity.. just not on the main machine which is where my game is!

Thanks for any help in figuring this out!

Edit: Did a bit more testing, and right click and hold does indeed work, same with left click and hold. I am able to drag windows within the game, for some reason mouselook just stops working altogether.

I read in the other thread in here that one of the devs felt it might be some anti cheat code? And they dont want to work around it? Why would Anti Cheat code!! Just disable mouselook! For me that just doesnt make sense. Well anything else I can provide or test, i am game for!

One additional note before bedtime. I installed and configured Synergy to see if another system of sharing keyboard mouse would replicate the problem. I was unable to get the game to react in the same way(never lost right click mouse move ability). Granted that program has a bunch of other issues that makes me a MPP customer So would really love some help getting this resolved.
