User operation preferences question

Tabbed browsing or new browser your mode of choice?

I'm a little curious how most visitors here use their internet browsers.

Assuming you are using Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) or Firefox -- or another browser that supports "tabbed browsing" -- do you more frequently use new tabs to get to new sites, or start up another browser session instead?

Assuming your computer is capable of running IE7 but you haven't upgraded yet, whats the main reason you've avoided upgrading?

Not a marketing survey (sorry Microsoft is fully capable of doing that job on their own, or paying some other sucker to get the information....)  just noticing my own user habits.  I'll answer for myself in comments area below.

Tabs, tabs, always tabs. Why run 5 different browser windows when I can run it all in one window? Seems more logical to me. And Firefox all the way.

My own habits are apparently just those, habits.  I'm so used to using multiple browsers that I just keep firing up new browser sessions, even if it means finding the little "e" Icon to click on to do it.

I'm running IE7, and it is fully capable of tabbed browsing.  Heck, I have Firefox installed on my box and use it rarely to access some sites that were problematic for IE7.  In either though I tend to just start up a new browser rather than use tabs.

Every now and again I start up a new tab, and every now and then something I'll do starts up a new tab automatically, but given my preference I'd just as soon have a new window open.

I ask the question above because I'm curious just how accepted this great new feature is.  Firefox users sneered at Microsoft a bit for adding something that was so prevalent in their own favorite browser, but how many people really use the feature anyway?  Is it really something so important that you have to have it and can't live without that feature, or is it more like a neat trick to use every now and then?

Myself, I predominantly use Advanced Browser (has tabs and it seems faster than both IE or FF). I do also use FF, as I like the many extensions that you can add to it.

Tabs. Everything in tabs. Because I got so many other applications running that it jsut crowds my taskbar. I tried to use IE7 for a while, but it just felt all too slow. Especially on website with allot of flash on it. I got an IE extension installed as well that allows me to view a site in IE inside Firefox if I ever come across an IE specific website.

Tabs are great! Firefox is my choice and especially with the new extension for tabs that Carl[c242] posted about! WWW Link

IE7 is fine but I can't see it being better than Firefox at this point.

Firefox and tabs....even though I too have not used the tabs much 'til recently (old habits die hard!). Also have the 3D extension mentioned by Chasbo. Only use IE7 when needed, but also have the IE extension in FF.
