On The Run

The shop tells me that they finally have my generator repaired. I'll believe it if it stays running all night tonight and I don't wake up frozen to death (which I'm pretty sure would be a bad thing).

I'm on a load that takes me home, via the scenic route. It's a very tight schedule and will keep me quite busy over the next couple of days. I have 2 stops tomorrow in Cincinnati, a stop in Franklin, VA for Saturday before noon, and a final stop in Tampa at 8:00 am Monday. This is a bit tight and was made tighter by the fact that the final pick up in Milwaukee wasn't ready until 4:00 this afternoon.

As I had some time to kill before being able to pick up the last stop I bobtailed out for lunch and made a stop at the Hobby Lobby to see what sort of yarns and needles they might have. Low and behold they were having a 50% off sale on knitting needles. I wish I would have had more cash on me than I did as there was a nice set of Boyce interchangeable circular needles in a case whose regular price is $70 and I could have had them for half.

Since I didn't have a lot of cash on me at that moment and didn't feel like searching for an ATM, I settled for buying sets of DPNS in sizes 6 and 8, and a 29" circular needle in size 10 as well as 4 skeins of Sinfonia sport weight yarn so I can try my hand at knitting socks.

I finally made the final pick up in Milwaukee at 4:00 and headed South. I'm about 3.5 hours from Cinci right now. I'll grab a few hours of sleep here (hopefully without freezing), get up early, and make a mad dash on in to try and get the two stops off as quickly as possible. It's about 10.5 hours over to Franklin from there so I'll have to do a bit of trucking to be there before noon on Saturday without fracturing any hours of service rules. I'll bend them a bit anyway, but would rather not get too far across that line.

I'm looking forward to getting home to relax and maybe knit a pair of socks or two.

You may still be in the running. The damn thing shut down again last night so it still isn't fixed. Needless to say I was a bit pissed.

Ah, you will probably be passing through Richmond on your way to Franklin.  They were under water about 7 years ago due to Floyd, but have recovered nicely.  460 From Petersburg to Franklin is a nice stretch of road.  If you get a chance, stop at the Virginia Diner.  They are famous for their ham and peanuts.
