organic ships?

Hi everybody!

The game looks really great, but what I can't see on any screenshots or on the trailer are organic-looking ships - aren't there any?

I think this would definetly be cool to have some sort of shadow crab or Vorlon cruiser (if you know Babylon 5 )?

What do you think? Or have I just overseen an info on that?

Thanks for any replies,
Stefan Bergert

As far as we know none of the ships in Sins are organic, but Ironclad are remaining tightlipped on specifics, so maybe, who knows.

The Vasari ships do have a very organic type feel to them though.

we talked about this on the older forums... i take it you were not registered there.... the point in my ramble is that the devs said it is an idea they may take into consideration when laying out the SoaSE II... but for this game there will be no organic ships

SoaSE II

That's a nice thought...

Hi

Thank you two for your replies!
I wasn't registered on the older forum (didn't even know such thing existed), you're right.

Do you still remember the reason why they decided not to chose at least a few organic-looking ships?

At least I can't think of a reason... from the screenshots the Vasari ships look really nice and especially clean, but in my opinion not organic.

Thanks,
Stefan

meh..... organic ships are just ok... its more fun to see steel vs steel in space being blown to bits.....

If you want organic ships click here, this is obviously not Sins but it is real time and fully incorporates all strategy in relation to biological ships, you can mutate ships and they evolve as the game progresses, have a look see!

And now to compensate for advertising another game...buy Sins! Or else!

If you read up on the Sins lore you will see why there are no organics ships at the particular time and place of this stage of the story. This isn't to say there aren't organic ships in the Sins universe - just not during these events.

I think whatever caused the destruction of the Vasari empire was an organic space entity

no offense (to anyone with the idea) but I sure as hell hope not...
thats a bit... WAY too overdone.

dont think it fit the feel.

sins 2 is a nice thought because they are gonna do it... already was discussed on older forums and most of our ideas over their have been taken into account....
atleast thats what i recall blair saying... then again their is no proof since they got deleted =p

Hi and thanks for all the replies!

Actually Genesis rising looks nice, but that's now waay too organic (and a bit cartoonish looking) to me I also like steel vs. steel in this case *g*

And I also heard that in Genesis rising there is just one plane all the ships are moving in so it's actually 2D (not saying that this can't be fun...but it's not really 3D then)...

Surely that's a good sign if a game is so exciting we want the sequel already.

but still. theres always the possibility (albeit a small one) that this game could stink...

so be goddamn CAREFUL ironclad!

Personally I wouldn't mine playing sins with Mario graphics. Side scrolling Sins! So what if it hampers the epic scale..just a tad. >>
