JU Admins - any chance for polls in the future?

Is there any chance we'll see polling options in JU's future?  I'd love to be able to put up a few simple polls and get results from the JU visitors.

Thanks in advance!

Please, Lord Brad, just say no! I can just imagine the moronic polls that would spring up all over the JU forums. For the love of God just say no!

Just because they (polls) are there doesn't mean you have to read 'em or participate in 'em

I'm not saying they wouldn't be something that could be abused, but there are times when putting up a simple poll with predetermined answers is much more effective than asking for opinions that people never want to give if they have to identify themselves.

I knew that reply would fire ya up a little

Really, I think they're ok sometimes, but I've seen some pretty stupid ones too.

The first poll:

Polls are:

A. Useful and insightful
B. Usually just Garbage and inane
C. Not worth the Electrons
D. The best thing since sliced cheese.

Okay, okay... maybe not, but it was the best out of the 4. I think that they can be useful and insightful, and also pretty frivolous and inane. I'd be interested to see, as a community, how Joeuser would use this option. Would it be all pervy sex polls, or boring!but!important! political polls? Hopefully there'd be a wide variety, if this option were ever made available.

Chances are slim on a per-blog poll feature. Maybe (and I stress maybe, not a promise or even a reasonable bit of speculation) something like a single poll on the front page controlled by admins or site moderators could someday exist. But that's the most I would expect.

Polls on blogs usually end up being things like:

Do you like cheese?
Yes
No

What happened to "It Depends"?

In Soviet Russia... the poll options choose YOU.  We do not tolerate any such wishy-washy answers!
