I love Joe User and technology in general, but....

I'd sworn off the TV for sure...then I swore off the computer. It made life more peaceful, made it easier for me to focus on my kids. Instead of getting mad every time they interrupted me. Nope. How rude of me to EVER put my own interests before attending to their needs. Yesterday I spent an hour on the computer and boy, did I pay for it later. It was WWIII in our house later on because I'd failed to prepare food...everything collapsed and it was an all-out war.

So now at this very moment my son is saying something to me and I have to figure out what he wants. It turns out he was begging to watch the movie that goes along with the song that I'm currently playing on WindowsMedia...something from the Curious George soundtrack. But I didn't understand what he wanted right away, and he crapped his pants. Literally. I had to explain to him that I'm not playing the movie, just a song.

So yes, after this I'm swearing off the computer unless in an emergency...like chatting with my husband who, in 5 hours will be leaving us for three months.

And I fully plan to stay in touch with Jenn & Dana. I'll allow a little journaling & blogging when the kids are asleep, as long as I remember to tend to their needs, like preparing meals & stuff. I do forget so easily.

Now for the one thing I've been envisioning posting here ever since the packages started pouring in.

A THANK YOU SLIDESHOW!!!

(Following is a huge thank you to the online folks (and three family members) who showered our baby with gorgeous, thoughtful, clothing...only a sampling of gifts from each person is shown...I had to hurry with the photos before April got cranky! Otherwise we would have done a full-fledged fashion show.)

I love you Joe Users! I'll be around occasionally, but my family has got to come first. (If you ever see me online, you can bet I'm neglecting someone's needs!!! Like right now, my son's trying to play my piano....I've gotta teach him proper technique now...)

Angela, good to read you, great slide show and I'm glad baby and family and you are well! You're welcome btw!

I understand, our experience is different but I know. Right now its 3:19am and I'm still up! I'm running to bed now because my hubby says I'm distracted by the computer, obsessed, was his word, and neglecting him! Me obsessed when I've tried to sit at the computer yesterday, Saturday, between running errands, cooking, stopping fights, tending to my youngest demands, which is nonstop and answering my sons's question, as old as he is, 12, he doesn't know everything, in the kitchen, his games, that I'm not so up on, but he loves telling me about them and so I have to be interested, and trying to post articles, read and read.....whew...so yes, I understand!

Let us know how you're doing and yell for help when you need sanity. And now I've got to go before my hubby sends for the fire department to hose me away from the computer!!

Insomniac Angela signing in again.

Yes ForeverSerentity, wow, I've never been so showered by anyone before!! You really overwhelmed us when we opened your package and went through it. The gorgeous outfits just kept coming and coming. So many different savvy styles, in just the right sizes that she'll be in as the seasons progress...just WOW. I don't feel like saying "Thank You" is enough. If I'm never able to shower you in kind, you better believe in karmic justice...you'll get it all back and then some, from somewhere!

Everyone Thank you so so so so so so so so much.

Thank you Gina, Tonya, Dr Guy, lh, & Brandie

AND FOR ALL THOSE GIFTS, everyone! I'll never, ever get over it. Let it suffice to say that our daughter's closets runneth over. Yes, that's plural. ClosetS. *Sigh*

But now I have to give myself a big, hard kick in the arse because you were all too polite to do it first:

I just re-read this article and HOW TACKY it seemed to say "Thanks for the gifts," then, "Bye, I'll be frequenting Joe User less frequently."

What a horrible rotten pig I came across as. I really didn't mean it that way though....I was just throwing a whole bunch of thoughts into one haphazard article. *Sigh* sorry.

More than anything, in my ideal dreams, if I could get my brain, pocketbook, and free time all aligned somehow, I'd pour gifts on all of you too!

Dana, I was cleaning off my counter two days ago and discovered a thank you card addressed to you that I forgot to mail because at the time I mailed the others, I'd forgotten to put your address on the envelope. Now that your address is finally on there, I haven't had a stamp or taken a trip to the post office.

I just don't see how you can bear being my friend! But I do love you so much!!!!

The thought never occured to me and I certainly didn't take it as such.

Enjoy your family Angela. Let them enjoy you.

I don't think anyone took it that way, Angela. I sure didn't. Don't sweat it, at all. You have an important job that is far more important than blogging, and nobody's going to hold it against you for doing that.

Or I'll hurt them!
