A New Year On The Road

I left this house this morning on my way down to the Miami area to deliver these two generators. The first stop is scheduled for 1:00 PM and the second one has a crane set up for 3:00 PM..

I spoke with dispatch when I stopped here at Vero Beach for breakfast and they already have me planned on some stuff so I shouldn't have to wait around for them to find me another load. Last week we talked about me picking something up in Tampa. If that's the case and I'm picking up there tomorrow I'll just go back home tonight and pick up in Tampa tomorrow morning.

It's a brand new year and a new start on the road, even though this load actually started last year.

Here we go again.

Vero beach? Damn, Wish I had known. Would have had you say hello to my aunt and mom!

Have a good trip! It is a new year, with new adventures, and a better one I hope.

Back to the old grind again! Yep, all that holiday buzz is wearing off. I was on the road yesterday, drove down to Gainsville to visit family. It was a nice drive back and forth. I thought about you when I saw the trucks going back and forth and at the rest stops.

Drive safe M!

Yeah, there's a TA truckstop there right off the interstate.

Thanks. I hope as well. How's the bug?

Thanks. I hope it'll be busy as that's what makes the paycheck.

I made it to the first stop in Coconut Creek no problem. I was even a few minutes early. But even after my calling them last week and letting them know exactly what I had, how it was loaded, and what would be needed to unload it, I got here and they were totally unprepared to unload the unit. Now I'm killing time waiting for a crane to show up to offload the thing.

I allowed a couple of hours between the two stops just in case, but now I sweating whether I'll be the 30 miles up the road to the second stop on time. I have to be there at 3:00 and it's now 1:45. I hope this crane gets here soon, I need to go.

Short and untimely. I sweated it out overnight. Was fine yesterday, and today of course. I hope it is not an indication of the year for me!
