Desktop Icons

Is there a way to make desktop icons invisible and "unclickable", if you will, so that you can just have a desktop x suite button that has a drop down menu for all the icons on your desktop?

right click desktop
arrange icons by
uncheck show desktop icons

or

switch to dtx builder
configure builder
desktop tab
check hide desktop icons
