Onward Into The Cold...Tomorrow
When I called dispatch from the port to let them I know I was loaded, she wistfully asked me what the weather was like there. I casually said that I had the a/c running as it was in the 80s. She audibly sighed and said it was 19 degrees there right now and asked me if I was really sure I wanted to come back up there.
When I stopped here I came back into the sleeper to refill Socrates' food dish only to discover that he had found the brand new bag of food and had torn a nice big hole in (at the bottom of course) and had managed to spill 3/4 of it's contents out on my bed. grrrrrrrrr It took me 10 minutes to get it all back into the bag and vacuum my bed. I had filled his bowl when we first got back in the truck this morning. Damn cat.
He knew I was pissed too and ran up front to hide. I guess he thought I couldn't yell at him if I couldn't see him.
He was wrong.
I've had my dinner, Socrates has had dinner in bed (damn cat), and now I'm going to settle in and watch a DVD. I'm hoping to get an early start in the morning to make as much time as possible. With the storm front passing across my route I'm hoping the roads will be cleared by the time I get up there but want to quickly cover as much ground as I can just in case the roads are in less than ideal 70 mph running condition. The steel I have on is only a tad over 11 tons so it doesn't really help a whole lot in giving my drive wheels extra traction. Winter weather is when you hope for nice heavy loads.
Oh yeah...damn cat.
