Different modes?

I forgot the answer to this question, and I'm sorry if i'm being redundent.

Is there different modes in MP? In HW2 there's only one kind of mode: Deathmatch.

Will there be more types of gameplay in Sins? I.e. Coop mission, VIP, Siege, etc.

VIP? How could that work in an RTS?

Another modt that'd be fun would be King of the Hill or Capture the Planet.

The same as in other games except with planets.

ah yes, siege. I want siege!

Seiges could be interesting im sure they will include at least the basic set of Scenarios, and if not then there are always mods.

VIP? Very simple. Have one team control a extra Mothership (or a VIP ship) that needs to be protected. If the mothership is destroyed then the team looses.

That would be more logical with a planet, but hey, why not...

some more,

take and hold: hold a certain planet for X minutes to win.
Checkpoint: hold 3 from planet A,B,C,D and E for Y minutes to win.
Sudden death: loose 1 planet and loose the game

yeah, these sound fun
I'll think of my own for later

I think that the minute limits should be pretty big cause the battles would go on for a while.

The limits should probably be a changeable option.
That way everyone will have their big/small battles.

Option 1: You control two planets, one is relatively low profit; the other is high. The "high value" planet is near your enemy (i.e. Player 1 sits within a couple minutes distance of Player 2's high value planet). You lose if your "low value" planet is captured.

This produces two types of strategies: securing your valuable planet or your important planet. No teams; always FFA. No other resources. Conditions are to destroy the enemy fleet (by destroying all structures). You may also capture the player's low value planet to win.

Option 2: One player controls twice the number of planets as everyone else (i.e. if 5 players, Player 1 controls 10 planets while every other player controls 1). Other players are allied with each other.

Players are forced to work together to battle a single, resource-even entity. No additional resources. Locked alliances. No starting fleet. Conditions are to destroy the enemy fleet(s).

Techno revolution:
1v1, 1 player starts out with maxed out tech, the other one with massive forces

now that should be fun xD

I think that one might be a little unbalanced. The other guy could just 'hyperspace' over, eh?
the idea is that the forces would be ballanced, the person who is technoed would still have a force that is capable of countering the sized one.

Theyd have to make it so that the teched guy barely has any ships though cause theyd be super powerful.

a 'barbarians at the gates' mode.

1 vs 3, where the 1 player starts with high tech and easily defendable lands, and the other three start lowtech and with wide open areas. maybe throw in some kind of superweapon, which can be more easily captured by the single player.
