unable to install Dark Avatar

Preordered the game It is present and states to install When i start the install i get a wait for 2 to 3 seconds and then a failure stating my serial number is not recognized

I had to update the Stardock Central software before I was able to successfully install the beta.

I have the same problem as Alan. My SDC build is 139 which I believe is the most up to date version. Any advice would be helpful.

i have the 139 build to and it worked for me.
hey, this is just a very wild guess, but when i logged into SDC it said that Galciv II had an update (NOT DA), the 061 update (while the last one was the 053 build), maybe you need that small upodate before you can start installing DA?
its a wild guess though.

There are couple things you can check. 

First, make sure you have Build 139 of Stardock Central.  You can check the build number in Help->About Stardock Central.  If you do not have Build 139 you can download it from http://storage.stardock.com/files/sdcentral_setup.exe

Next, in the registrations dialog (Tools->Register Products) under games verify that your serial number for Dark Avatar is entered and is entered correct along with your email address.  (Referer to your receipt for your serial number).

If that is correct then you can try to re-activate Dark Avatar (it should have been automatically when it was installed.)  Locate the folder where Dark Avatar is installed.  Normally it will be in C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\.  And delete the Sig.Bin file. 

Then using Stardock Central (restart it if you have it open), right click on Dark Avatar and select the option to "Activate Application".  Upon successfully activation Dark Avatar try running it again. 

Hopefully that will have fixed the problem.

Hi!

Thanks for the response! The problem (for me) is when I try to register the serial number I received, it tells me that the serial number is invalid, and won't let me install the game.

OOps!

My bad! When trying to register, I had "Game Subscription" in the product box which I assumed was correct as it's a game and I was subscribing to it. However, if you scroll down the list there is indeed a Dark Avatar Expansion Pack entry on the list. (@Alan) if you select this and then update serial, it works, or at least it did for me...

I had the same problem...And it was due to an error on Stardock Central or whatever part I suppose... Here's where the problem was.. This is copy&paste from my original receipty

Product Name : Galactic Civilizations II - Dark Avatar (Preorder)
User Name : Nicolas ******* *******
Email : *********@videotron.ca
Serial Number : [No serial number required]

Notice the No serial number required? Well...heh..Thats what Stardock Central was trying to register so obviously I was getting invalid serial number message. So I had to go to https://www.stardock.com/support/ entered my email and they automatically sent me a copy of all my serials.. And I ended up getting an actual serial number for DA in that email instead of Ne serial number required . Hope it helps some.

Hi, i had the same problem as Galaad and me too went to the support site and then the problems were gone

Thanks God ( and Stardock) for having a good thought system for retrieving the serials for these cases
