The Inland North:

Well, I have never had anyone ask me if I'm from Chicago or Wisconsin, but I do call carbonated drinks pop.

i came out midland, but the 2 dominant red lines were the inland north and north central. philly was at the bottom for me. i guess that makes sense since i was born and raised in pittsburgh and philly accents are very noticeable to me.

When I talk to my in-law (deep south) they say I have a yankee accent.

actually, that's the 1 pittsburghese phrase i always detested. it sounds uneducated and ignorant to me. ironically, i usually use "ya'll" with not so much of a southerna accent.

in this (philly) area, people say "yous" as if making "you" plural only required adding an "s." it sounds equally as ignorant to me as yins does. so i've stuck with "ya'll."

pittsburgh (or "picksburgh" as some locals say) does have a very distinct language and dialect. if you are curious, go here...WWW Link

I went to college with a Pittsburgian. How do you think I knew about Yins (and Yur'ins)?

Mine says I'm from the "Inland North" and people probably ask me if I'm from Wisconsin, which by the way, I AM! and yes I call soda "pop" not soda

"North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.
