I have stayed out of the fray because it's irritating and it's a distraction that so many of us have been drawn into. I think it's despicable and disgusting the melee that one person has caused. And all for what? For points? Seemingly so. This is not a defense of someone who is a weakling and who have been ganged up on by everyone, no, this is the perverseness of someone who is, possibly mentally unstable. That might seem a bit harsh, but it's something that I'm putting on the table to be considered.

Here's someone who openly comes out fighting no matter what is said, or who says it. No matter what the discussion the tirade that ensues is ridiculous and it's all aimed at LW, and now me.

She gets pats on the backs and attaboys because she is considered to have spunk for standing up for herself. That would be great if that was what she was doing. She's not standing up for herself she's being a menace.

Baker tells her not to do the sort of thing she's doing here and on every other blog to his blog and what does she do, turns around and bites him because he doesn't agree with her or give her pats on the back..see the only time she extends an apology is when someone comes out and say they are sorry for how they acted (which was considering her behaviour, not their faults)but she only says, "I accept your apology and I respect you" just because they did first. Not because she's really sorry.

I can understand someone who has a short fuse and who gets overexcited during a debate or having a differences of opinions, but the name calling and the mudfest that ensues is just downright ridiculous. And it's all pointing in mine and LWs direction. Why because we see right through her, that's why.

All this rehashing is just bs and it should not be tolerated at all by anyone! I don't have the stomach for it and I won't stand idly by while she takes every comment I make and turn it into her own Soap Opera starring her. It's nothing but crap! To answer your title question, no JU is not full of "sheeple". I've noticed I'm not the only "reg" who hasn't been around much, and, while I couldn't blame the running conflict specifically, it HAS made me less than eager to come around. While other people may feel entirely differently about the matter, I don't think I'm TOTALLY alone in this regard.

I really can't see that you have made any headway since then, but you insist on trying. Be that as it may, but for all the world, I can't understand why you had to drag me into it. I could live with the blanket "sheep" comment, but when I get labled as horrible, arrogant, and egotistical on top of it, well that gives me the right to speak up.

I'm even willing to let all that go, for in all reality it's very petty. Please stop shooting yourself in the foot. You seem to be at the root of all the discord, whether you are the cause of the problem or otherwise. You have said more than your peace, and all are aware of how you feel. If you feel you have been slighted by LW, then be the bigger person and let it go, whether or not little jabs come here and there. IMHO, you are simply out-classed by LW, and you're never going to make any headway with her. Continuing on with all this is little more than entertainment for some of us at your expense, and simply damages your credibility in the eyes of those you are trying to convince.

That's my perspective, too. People jump on me as though I were hypocritical for "jumping" on LW for doing this sort of thing and then taking up for her. You won't find me saying that LW's junk is 'unfair' or 'mean', and it damn well won't be because my feelings are hurt. I just get tired of seeing it, and most of the time she's the only rational one in the feud that will hear reason, (see above).

The other blog, though, didn't have anything to do with this feud, and j1 just waded into LW as if it were the same old argument blog for no reason at all. So this "i've moved on" stuff is just a farce. She's still sensitive enough that if she see's LW smart off she has to make a thing about it.

One of these days you guys will be around enough, and maybe feel confident in yourselves enough, to realize that this isn't about you at all. LW enjoys this. You aren't scoring points by kicking back, you're offering incentive by showing your sensitivity. Eventually, maybe, you'll realize that this shit doesn't work if only one person plays.

I respect Jen and I like LW.

That doesn't mean I'm always nice to them. My respect for people based on their ability.

But I have to say, I overwhelmingly agree with this blog.  Jen's blogs are very much the kind of thing that I had hoped for on JU.  A user who blogs several times per day about whatever they want.

MOST blogs out there that are active have dozens of new posts on them per day. That's what a blog is.

I have begun nullifying (i.e. they become hidden effectively) blogs that are just nasty and against other JUers. I'm not quite at the point where I'm going to just outright forbid them but as I find them, I make them effectively disappear from the site's distribution system.

The concept that one person trying to succeed as somehow harming someone else seems very unlike LW.

I have always felt a certain level of sadness towards those who accuse others of being "after points" because they are active.

Look at the top 10 blogs on JU by points:

#1 MINE. 95,461 points.

#2 HC's (not sure what that' sabout -checking into it): 23,504

Look at the point difference.  Anything under 50,000 points is effectively noise. That means, all it would take to pop into the top 10 is to have a single very popular article.

Comments and posts are worth trivial amounts of points. The best and easiest way to become popular is READERS.

My Rush blasts Instapundit article has 10,354 points all by itself. Do some of the people who are obsessed with points get that? That article, by itself, would make my blog 15th on JU. ONE blog article.

Jen's articles are about the things she wants to write about. Good for her I say! And to anyone who thinks her motivation is to be in the top 10 list, I say to them: Get a life. And get an idea of just how ridiculously easy it is to get into the top 10.

To go on a rant, it's the same sort of frustration I have with poor people thinking how "hard" it is to get rich or to at least not be poor. It's not hard. It just takes some sense.  Look at what the people who succeed do and understand how they do it.

Similarly, look at how the top blog sites got popular.  My top blogs have NOTHING To do with me owning the blog (other than the GalCiv related ones which are a small %). This article has 129,000 points (only a small % of it is in the past 30 days).
