Happy 5th Birthday!

My little one is five today. Five! Finally! She has been looking forward to her birthday all year! She's been singing about it and badgering me everyday about turning five.
I can't blame her. For children, having a birthday is such an exciting event. They enjoy being the center of attention, completely, for one entire day! Who wouldn't like that?!
So she chose to wear her purple velvet dress and black shoes today instead of sneakers and jeans. I did her hair with pretty bubbles (hair clips) just the way she liked it. Then on the way to dropping her at her PreK daycare, we stopped at the SuperWalmart to pick up her birthday cupcake that she wanted. It's done in the Little Mermaid vision and they did a marvelous job too!
Last night we put together 19 goodie bags so her little friends would have something to take home with them.
We had to pick up some candy because mommy forgot to get candy to put in the bag. She was like "mommy, how could you forget the candy?!" All mommy could do was look at her and say "I'm sorry honey, we'll get it in the morning". Duhhh mommy! LOL!
So we picked up extra candies and we bought her a princess tiara and wand in purple! She's matching perfectly today! She's princess for a day!

I'm about to pick her up now and we're going to get the birthday cake which will be for our family celebration. She's so excited that she's having two birthday parties. [our's not a big party, just us family and maybe a kid or two from the neighborhood, maybe]. But at school there were all her little friends and her beloved teacher and I'm glad she could enjoy that.
I told her the story of her birth. "Five years ago, mommy went to the hospital with daddy and grandma. She wasn't born until 2:50pm in the afternoon and daddy had to leave to go pick up your brother and sister from school. But grandma was there and she held you and there you were my little angel. And I was so happy to see you."
Happy birthday my darling daughter, may this day be yours forever and ever and ever; as you wished today!
I'm looking forward to many more birthdays with you. I love you.

I like purple too, wands are necessary when one is a princess.
