Dark Messiah- Best Game Ever??

friggin awesome

Well, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic recently just opened the public beta multiplayer, and I have never played a game that had such an awesome fighting mechanic. It like revived the moments I had when I first played CS, Starcraft, etc..the classes are all fun to play, and I am just rocking with the Priestess. Who here agrees with me??

And for those who don't have the open beta, well its free now, and you can get it here. I think you may need to register though.

Mild astroturfing detected.

Is this game starforced?

I agree with The Sabre--the M&M series has been mired in its own pit of mediocrity. HOMM 5 killed any further interest I have in the series.

Thanks Tertullian,

History/Wikipedia:

'Might and Magic (MM) was a series of computer role-playing games from New World Computing, which became a subsidiary of The 3DO Company. The producer of the series was Jon Van Caneghem.

One of the most famous and prolific computer rpg series, Might and Magic was one of the defining examples of early computer role-playing games, along with the Ultima and Wizardry series.

The original Might and Magic series officially ended with the closure of the 3DO Company.

(After the release of Might and Magic 10. A rushed piece of ****.) personal opinion

The rights to the Might and Magic name were purchased for $1.3million by Ubisoft, who decided to "reboot" the franchise with a new series with no connection to the previous continuity, starting with the games Heroes of Might and Magic V and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.'

Whith the reboot of the franchise I think they are trying to target an different gaming/age group.

I don't think I'm going to be part of that group. It's sad. I did really enjoyed the serries.

I've never been a fan of Might and Magic... sorry but the M&M games always seemed really sub-par to me. The latest MM game seems really interesting though, and I'm excited to try it. Not interested in multiplayer though.

Now the Heroes of Might and Magic is a different story. Heroes II was great, Heroes III was perfection.

Heroes IV was a travesty that is best left forgotten.

Now, while I do not think that Heroes V quite captures the perfection of Heroes III, it still is a pretty good game that stays about as true to the series and what makes it great. It's not a remake of Heroes III, that would just be boring. It's a new game. Sure some stuff is different, but it's still good.

My biggest complaint about Heroes V is the 3D rotating world map. It's just too graphics intensive, and it chokes my PC.

Also, I think the graphical style of the game is a bit too "Warcrafty" for me. I think Heroes had its own distinctive style, and I think it lost a bit of it.

However, I do like the game itself. It's not Heroes III, but heck, Galactic Civilizations isn't Master of Orion 2 either
