Lost In Cincinnati

It's Monday, no doubt about it. First thing this morning I called my first stop for directions. They're in Cincinnati. The lady with the Bristish accent gave me what sounded like pretty good directions as they seemed sensible when compared to the city map on my laptop.

What the dear lady failed to mention was that there was some street construction going on and many of the street signs were either blocked from view or simply gone. I wound up taking a nice little tour of a section of the city as I had found myself on the wrong street with no place to turn my rig around.

Somehow by using dead reckoning I managed to find my way to the interstate just about a mile back from my exit so I tried again while guessing at where my turns should be. This time I managed to find the damn place.

This little circus put me behind schedule. I needed to get to Charlotte, NC to make the second stop this afternoon but by this point there was no way I was going to make it before they closed. It would have been cutting it close even if I hadn't gone on a sight seeing tour.

I called Charlotte and informed them I would be there first thing tomorrow morning, and then called my third stop which was supposed to be at 8:00 am tomorrow in Raleigh and pushed that back to noon. The final stop, near Wilmington, I pushed back to between 3 and 4.

Can you say juggling act?

Ah well, now that's settled I can actually relax and enjoy a hot breakfast seeing as I'm running late anyway. There's a bright side to everything.

I would say your dead reckoning is pretty good!  Good luck with the rest of the stops.

Noooo. I am currently sitting in Candler, NC about 2 hours out of Charlotte. I'll camp out here for the night and try to beat the traffic into Charlotte early in the morning.

After eating dinner I changed my mind and decided I didn't want to get up that early. Now I'm only 30 minutes from Charlotte. I'll have time to shave in the morning.

Ouch! I hope you're found again!! OK, not so funny, my joke fell! hehe, blame it on the fact that I'm half asleep and should retire for the night! Glad you found your way back.

Oh I am so sorry for you Mason. I am from just outside Cincinnati. The construction there is hell. They have been working on it for 4 yrs now. And still going at it I see. It is an easy place to get lost and turned around it. And in a bigrig wow..

Well glad you were able to find your way outta there lol. So what did you think of Cincy? Besides the fact that it is a death trap for traveling out-of-staters lol.

G'luck with the rest of your trip.

Thanks. I've been in Cincy many times over the years, but it seems it's always a different part of town and no matter what part of town it is the streets are being torn up. How does anyone get anywhere in that damn place?
