Mouse lag

I am using multiplicity on a Wireless desktop and a wireless laptop. I just installed it and it works great, but I am getting some mouse lag on my secondary computer. I suspect that this is because both of the computers are on Wifi, and the signal has to travel through my d-link router, which is on the other side of the house :S

Is there any way I can run an ethernet cable between my laptop and desktop and set multiplicity to communicate through it?

Thanks,

Geoff

If you run a crossover ethernet or usb or firewire MP will use those. Just make sure that you assign the right IP address associated with the ehternet card.

You have an ethernet card on both, right? They are plugged in together?

Start | Run
Type "cmd" and click OK
Type "ipconfig" and [Enter]
Find the result that is the wired adapter

It'll look like the entry below:
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.101

On the primary computer, run the MP config and enter that IP address.

Should be done.

I have noticed that if I have some heavy processes running on my primary boxes the mouse cursor will lag. This is normal, when the processes slow down the lag will stop.
