Ideas for minor races:
1)Protectorate:
A)Positives
-Other races consider the minor race a par of your race diplomatically in the sense of thinking about war, and making treaties, but they trade with the minor race independantly from you.
-Alien trade with the minor race benefits the major race who is the protector in the protectorate.
-Trade bonus when you trade with the minor race.
-You can request that they build ships for you(with your designs) and they but they also cost credits for each turn the contruction is taking place with each payment being the same, and the payment price being proportional to the actual cost of the vessel.
B)Negatives:
-If the minor race is adjacent to, or surrounded by another major races terratory, that race is more likely to attack you and the minor race.
C)Other:
-The Minor race has access to all your buildings, and all the parts on ships.
Requirements:
Minor Race is threatened by another race(IE: another race is a threat to them).
Alliance with you.
Alliance only with you at time of protectoration.
same ethical allignment or they are nuetral.
2)Assimilation:
Positive
The Minor Race all-but surrenders to you.
They remain independant on the diplomatic screen, and you can trade with them as if they were independant, but you control all their construction.
Other races also still trade with them seperately, and there is still a economic bonus for you, but they won't consider going to war more than usual.
Requirements:
Protectorate with you.
Trade with them.
Same ethical allignment or they are nuetral.
