Problems SDC

Well, I couldn´t log in, the reason is that I am using a university broadband (in my room).
The broadband has a firewall and im using a proxy I think, the problem is that I have no idea what the port is or what kind of username and password you are refering to. So thats a bit of a problem, I guess you are not the guys to complain to for not knowing my port and so, but is there someway to find out what port/username/password is required? :notsure:

Sure, here goes. I start Stardock and are promted by the "Create Stardock.net account". I fill in my First/last name, nick name, e-mail and password.

If I just click "submit" without entering any info in the "proxy settings" (I leave them all blank) then I get the message "failed to update account information"

And if I fill in any info in the "proxy settings" screen I get the same message.

The only thing I know about my connection is that we connect to the net through the following adress:

http://www.student.uu.se/auto/proxy.pac

Besides that I have no more information on our brodband :notsure:

Check your email to see if it sent you a validation email. I'll ask Pat to look at it. I'm not sure it's a firewall issue, it might be something else.

Make sure you entered in the same email address and such as you did here along with the same password you use here.

Nidaros: What if you enter this info into SDC:

proxy address: www-proxy.uu.se
proxy port: 3128

Its from your proxy.pac file, Im not that good at reading it but I think it might work.

Just bumping this so other Stardock people will see this easier.

OK dumb blond question coming up! Where is the create Stardock.net account button located? I have not yet managed to get it to log in, let alone have anywhere to put in a user name and password.

The creation of a Stardock.net account happens when you first install SDCentral, which is an issue to be solved. Be sure to work with Pat Ford (T-Man) or Kris Kwalis when trying to get this bypassed. It is tricky.
