Met my New Neighbor

Someone recently purchased the place next door to me. It happened while I was out on this last round on the road. I had noticed the old pickup truck sitting there and a man's bicycle, but until this evening I hadn't actually seen anyone over there.

After dinner I decided to talk a walk before it got dark and the buzzards, I mean mosquitos, came out. As I was returning from my walk I saw a man riding a bicycle coming up the street towards me. He turned into the drive of the place next door just about the same time as I was walking past it. We spoke for a moment and once I told him that i lived next door he immediately began asking a ton of questions about my bent. He had seen it parked on the carport and had never see one up close before. That kept us tied up in conversation for a few minutes.

I learned that his brother has been a trucker for about 20 years, he himself was retired, and a good deal other stuff about him and his wife. He seems like a pretty nice guy; a down to earth type. I liked him.

After we had chatted for a while I excused myself to return and check on Socrates, crack open a brew, and settle in for the evening.

And that is the way it was, September 7th, 2006.

That is how I met my neighbors as well! (well, not the bent, but the same gist!).

Howdy neighbor, and Socrates is less phttttty?  So is ours.  I am taking Sally to the Ahem, next month!  She is ready.

Yeah meeting neighbors is usually best done in a casual manner.

Socrates is awake and acting his usual self again.

My vert suggested waiting until Socrates is 6 months before the Ahem. That'll be the end of November.1111111111111111111111111111

Yeah, so far they seem pretty quiet and friendly. That's what counts.

Maybe, maybe not. As long as they're quiet.
