Grades, just not good enough for parents

Are my grades not satisfying??

Ok. I want to know if my grades are not good enough for my parents or what. No offense to you parents out there. I mean my parents freak if I get a C- or lower! It's crazy! I try my very best to get good grades. This is the first year that I haven't been on honor roll since you could be on it which is 4th grade. The first nine weeks my gpa was a 3.17465. Well you see I would've been on the honor roll, but one problem, I got a D+ in my algebra 2 class. Which is the hardest one I have. Well my parents went psycho on me. I really was trying hard, but all the math was new to me. Well eventually I brought it up to a C for the 2nd nine weeks grading period. They said that it was a little better but still I could do even better. I mean if they could just understand that math is taught differently now then when they were in school. It's more complex. I mean if my grades drop like .1% i get hammered on! It's insanity! Let me tell ya. Well the 2nd nine weeks my gpa dropped to a 2.98 but i still didn't get on honor roll because you aren't allowed to have more than 3 c's. Well eventually I kept raising my grades. Grade cards just came out this week and my gpa ose to and astounding 3.032 which is all i need for honor roll! yes! lol. Well still they ask, "Why can't you just do like you used to?" I don't know why i can't. I really try but it's just not workin for me. I don't know, did i lose my intellegence or something. I've always had mostly A's and a couple B's but now it's turned into a's b's and c's. Then there's my friend Alex Hoffman......well he got grounded this 3rd nine weeks grading period. His gpa was i think he said a 3.8. Well 4.0 being the best, his parents grounded him! There rule is that he must have a 3.9 to not be grounded. Whoopdy doo. 1 stinkin point away!! But then there's also his twin brother Christian. He got lower than a 3.8 but he's not grounded. He still gets to go to the weight room after school, but Alex doesn't. Me and my friends have come to the conclusion that the only reason Christian gets to is because he plays football. Alex plays soccer and I guess that doesn't make a difference weither or not he gets to go to the weight room.....No, he automatically gets grounded for a 3.8! That's what I call intense! And of course you have people like Costlow.....geez he gets like what....a 2.7 or something like that I think, but he gets away with it somehow. I think his mom is more leaniant than most parents though. And I admire his mom for the way she is. From what I've heard about her she's really nice and a sweet person. Maybe that explains where Costlow gets some of his acts of being nice and sweet from. But that's a whole nother blog. lol. I just wish my parents were like Costlow's mom. Spoiled, getting off easy on most things, well except for the license thing. lol. Well that's all I have for now. Comment as you please....hopefully someone will answer me. Untill next time...........

Well, color me crazy then....with a C or lower, on either midterm reports or report cards, and my kids are grounded until the next time I see grades...that means they go nowhere but school and church, they don't have friends over, and they don't talk to friends on the phone...they spend their time studying, to get the grades up. Of course, I know my children well enough at this stage of the game to know that, if they are givng their all, they can bring home straight As....oldest is in AP classes at his high school, the middle one took the ACT test a few months ago, in 7th grade, and got an 18, and the youngest has been in the talented and gifted program since 3rd grade.

Trust me, in the long run, you'll be GLAD your parents aren't like Costlow's mom. Maybe not till you have kids of your own, but you will be, eventually.....:)

Grades always mattered more to me than my parents. Do they matter to you?

Well, I see your point, but here's why things are the way they are... Ok most parents judge how their kids do in Elementary (The easy years) When you get A's and B's or C's and D's they make a little average chart in their head and after about 6 yrs of that crap they think it will always carry on, even through High School when stuff gets harder and more advanced...(EVEN for me). My parents have slowly accepted the fact that I'm not getting straight A's anymore, but at least learning isn't boring...hehe. Anyway, you're still a Freshman so you have an excuse...but the thing with Hoffman...what do his parents want? A friggin' 5.0 or something....jeez.

Oh well, that's life so what can ya do but try?
