Nicole Kea tries to seduce her newest conquest into having sex with her in the voracious “Buttons.”

A titillating Mid-Eastern beat opens the single, setting a

In the chorus, Kea commands her date to undress her and take off her blouse. He talks dirty to her, leaving her frustrated.
“I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby (Uh huh)/But you keep fronting (Uh)/Saying what you going do to me (Uh huh)/But I ain't seen nothing (Uh)/I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby (Uh huh)/But you keep fronting (Uh)/Saying what you going do to me (Uh huh)/But I ain't seen nothing (Uh).”

In the first verse, she says the shy guys usually turn her off. However, his kisses cause her to go to wild. She doesn’t want to wait for a relationship for them to have sex. She’s a hot girl who’s used to getting her way. She’s going to be upfront and let him know she’s not bragging about her sexual prowess. She really does know every position. Throughout their date, he’s been saying she’s beautiful and there is no other girl out there like her. But despite a lapdance and a lingerie show, he won’t touch her.
“Typical/Hardly the type I fall for/I like when the physical/Don't leave me asking for more/I'm a sexy mama (mama)/Who knows just how to get what I wanna (wanna)/What I want to do is spring this on you (on you)/Back up all of the things that I told you (told you)/You've been saying all the right things all night long/But I can't seem to get you over here to help take this off.”

In the pre-chorus, she says he’s making her sweat and she can’t bear to be clothed anymore. “Baby, can't you see? (see)/How these clothes are fitting on me (me)/And the heat coming from this beat (beat)/I'm about to blow/I don't think you know.”

The chorus is sung again.

In the chorus, he’s teased her by saying he has a nice sized penis. She believes it’s all talk since she hasn’t seen it. She thinks he is intimidated by her in-your-face sexuality and afraid of her. She is puzzled at the fact a guy may just want to make out and nothing more. She’s a sure thing and it unnerves her that he won’t just do her.
“ You say you're a big boy/But I can't agree/'Cause the love you said you had/Ain't been put on me/I wonder (wonder)/If I'm just too much for you/Wonder (wonder)/If my kiss don't make you just/Wonder (wonder)/What I got next for you/What you want to do? (do)/Take a chance to recognize that this could be yours/I can see, just like most guys that your game don't please.”

The pre-chorus and chorus are sung again.

In the bridge, she throws her boobs in his face and begs him to touch her.
“ Come on baby, loosen up my buttons babe/Loosen up my buttons babe/Baby, won't you loosen up my buttons babe?/Loosen up my buttons babe/Come on baby, loosen up my buttons babe/Loosen up my buttons babe/Baby, won't you loosen up my buttons babe?/Loosen up my buttons babe.”

The chorus is sung twice to end the single.

Kea is insecure when it comes to her sexuality. She’s used to guys leading her to bathrooms and other unsavory places to have sex, she has forgotten the concept of foreplay entirely. She thinks it’s a slight on the guy’s part when they don’t immediately rip off her clothes. She thinks something is wrong and pesters him. She embarrasses herself by licking her lips and wearing revealing clothes.

Kea’s strutting vocals are a contradiction. While she may be expressing the words with confidence, she can’t hide her uncertainity. She can’t figure the guy out and it freaks her out.

The coy Mid-Eastern beat shimmies and curves in a luscious striptease of beats.

The unabashed “Buttons” is a camp classic

I was walking through a room today and the Ellen Degeneres show was on and the Pussycat Dolls were performing this very song. Lyrically, it's insipid and chauvanistic to a new low. But man . . . those girls are hot.
