So they say life doesn't work out this way...

I went to my favorite bar this morning, where they serve up some pretty fine coffee and have an excellent dish called "The Cowboy": 2 eggs over easy, homefries, pumpernickel toast and sausage. Delish. I had purchased the morning paper and was about to go out on deck for a morning cigarette when a girl I know asked me if I was still working at the call centre.

I had to nod, and did so with a bit of a grimace; I was about to clock in, in less than an hour. She then asked if I'd like a job working at the nearby University, working as an assistant co-ordinator in the Indigenous Theatre group. Perks include straight weekdays, 9 - 5, with extra time added on occasion for night productions. Add that to a large enough of a salary to be able to quit my job outright, the opportunity to travel to Toronto to meet and greet incoming speakers and performers, and to be able to walk to work in less than 15 minutes.

Really.

I know the offer is legit, and have the experience, contacts and ability to definitely be able to handle the requirements. It's a bit of a go-fer job, but is totally exciting, interesting and challenging. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and waiting for the paperwork to be sent my way.

AHH!  You lucky woman!  I'd love to work in theater again (did lots in college).  There is just something in the air when actors congregate.  My husband would say its a strong stench..heheh.  He was never a big theater fan.

Hope you get it, sounds awesome!

Brilliant news, Nic. For fear of jinxing, I will hold off all further comments until you've signed the papers and have started!

I wish something like that would fall in my lap! Strange, but I've only had ONE interview in all my life and it's for the job I have now. I would submit app after app after app and...nothing. Getting jobs can be a weird thing.

Hope this pans out for you!
