How to Hide The Recycle Bin on Windows xp (works)

1 - On Start Menu, choose "Run" and type Regedit.

2 - a) If you are using the XP style start menu:
Search for:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel\

b) If you are working with the classic menu:
Search for:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\ClassicStartMenu\

3 - Inside, right click and create a new DWORD-Value with the name "{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}".

4 - Right click on the new value, choose 'Modify' and change the Value to "1".
