JU is probably one of the best!

All hail!

http://cairobanknote.blogspot.com
I've been blogging since '99 when blogs were still fairly new. I've tried various blogs and still have a few around that I keep because of my hobbies and my various interests. I sell banknotes and write about automobiles and discuss British politics, and I like to inject a bit of humour now and then so I have a cynical, satirical blog too. The problem with many blogs is that there is limited readership probably because a): those sites are mismanaged or: b) we are being crowded out by too many blogsites and people are being choosy--which can be a good thing. Only the best should survive--that's life.

Before commenting on JU I thought I'd mention a UK blogsite I joined recently. It is "supposed" to be a top blog channel. My controversial comments on John Prescott and England manager, Steve Mc Laren were met with...... zilch. It was disappointing but I guess I am either too *boring/* too controversial or * just another blog among a thousand others!

JU, on the other hand, is growing as I speak (and I've been there off and on since 2002 or thereabouts),and there are reasons for this.
If I look at the blog Index I see that bloggers, if they have something sensible and meaningful to say, are rewarded with readers and, thus, have a sense of belonging to a group. We, as Joeusers, eventually become part of a family of boggers. More importantly, if we want to stay in the background, as I do, at times, we can do this and still blog along with all sorts of views and thoughts. I see the hits on my blog as a reflection of a healthy blog site, and, let's face it, it is nice to be read! Comments are another bonus.

Not everyone agrees with everything that is said--but that spurs JU on. If we all agreed to everything life would be so boring.

I have only one wish for JU. Keep going strong. And one hope (because I'm in the Middle East) : Let's get more bloggers from more places to join us.

There is a heavy bent on the English speaking nations here, but diversity is good!
