HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Happy Easter everyone! Oh, after five days that most of us are away from the daily painstakingness of corporate life, we’re back on our cubies; still getting rid of Holy Week (escapade) hangover. Anyhow, I didn’t set off for the beach with mah friends. I really wanted to go to Puerto Galera, but I can’t tolerate my chronic seasickness. Enduring the intensity of summer, I just stayed home and thought of just making the most out of this Holy Week retreat, i.e. sleep. Lolz! Yeah, I felt it was a great time to just relax and free my mind of wearing thoughts. I am sleep-deprived and almost certainly one of the best things I could get at no cost these days is a good night’s (and days’) sleep. Of course, I reflected on the Passion of Christ, and I also went to the Church with my family to attend the Holy Week Service.

In between snooze, I also got time to finish reading Rebecca Wells’ “Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.” It is a book about the bliss, frustrations and struggles of four Louisiana women who are self-proclaimed crowned heads (few names I remember, the Countess Singing Cloud, Queen Dancing Creek, and so on) in the secret tribe of the Ya-Yas. I was so fascinated how timeless the story of these four women has become, and I know that in the world there are countless Ya-Ya tribes who made themselves priestesses and countesses of their own divine and unfathomable societies. I’ve had girl friends all my life, but I still couldn’t fully understand the kind of intimacy they earnestly reveal to one another. Reading the book gives me some understanding of this mutual relationship, though until this very second, I’m still mesmerized. Some of my friends, I believe, have created their enigmatic unions. Kat, Anj, and Fria are very close friends of mine and they have from time to time, refer to themselves as “Women of the Sea.” I just wonder who refers to herself as Her Royal Highness the Duchess Barracuda =)
