Firefox "Do this automatically for files like this from now on" issue.

Doesn't work >.<!

I have been experiencing this problem for a while now. In firefox, if I download a .zip file for example, I check off the "Do this automatically for files like this from now on" option. I want it to autosave the files to my computer. However, if I go to download another .zip, it asks me again. Is anyone else having this problem?

I have tried a fresh reinstall, and even with no plugins, this happened. So I know it isn't the extras I have installed :P. I am using Firefox 1.5.0.4 :).

A little help :S?

Yeah, I had this problem too. I'm not sure, but I think I remember reading that that checkbox doing nothing is a known issue. Mozilla released a public beta of Firefox 2, so maybe it's fixed in that.

Besides, it's only saving an extra click.

Yes, but I am lazy lol. Good to know it is a known issue, and yes, hopefully a fix comes along soon . It used to work in Firefox 1.5.0.1 (think that was the version ).

Actually I have had the reverse, it stays checked and I won't want it checked. Though even though it shows up checked, it obviously is asking so it is ignoring the check. Hehe. Odd thing.
