I'm Beautiful, Are You?

Are you beautiful? Really? Are you sure?

beau·ti·ful Pronunciation Key (byt-fl)
adj.

1. Having qualities that delight the senses, especially the sense of sight.
2. Excellent; wonderful.

Do you have qualities that delight the senses? Are you excellent and womderful? Why? Why not?

While I may not be physically delightful, I like to think I am mentally so. I am intelligent and have a very good sense of humor. These things make me beautiful to me if no-one else. I have strength and resolve. That makes me beautiful as almost everyone finds these qualities to be excellent.

Are you beautiful? Why do you think so?

I make the ladies (and gentlemen of a certain persuasion) all aquiver with my rugged good looks. Well, not really, but life's tough for the beautiful people. Everything comes so easily they have trouble distinguishing what's real from what's based on their looks.

I think there is a difference between being physically beautiful and being a beautiful person. Someone can be a beautiful person no matter what their packaging on the outside is. I think a beautiful person is someone who is kind and caring. Some of the physically beautiful people are ugly on the inside and once you talk to them all of a sudden they just aren't as attractive any more.

What do I think I am? I think I'm pretty but not beautiful. Maybe on the inside.

I do think you are a beautiful person, Mason. You work hard. You are kind and caring to all you meet including wasps who invade your space. You have offered me encouragement on days when I really needed a kind word. And physically you have some beautiful blue eyes, you know they are the window to the soul.

And there is the heart of my real point.

Where it really counts and is most significant.

Thank you. Eyes? These old things? I've had em since I was a kid.

I know exactly what you mean. I am a legend in my own mind.

Short answer: Yes, I am beautiful. My mum thinks so, my sister thinks so as does my wife. And they're not biased, not at all

Realistically and honestly, I agree with your take on it. I try to be a good man as much as I can and believe this helps project an image of beauty for others. But I certainly aint no oil painting. I am caring, sensitive and compassionate. These are much more important to me than physical beauty. Of course, only a rich man says money isn't everything, right?

Thanks Maso. It really is what's on the inside that counts.

Uh-huh, so how many fat ugly girls have you invited out on a date lately?

None. But then, I haven't invited any skinny pretty out lately either.

It's all good, Mason. You keep telling me that physical attractiveness doesn't matter and I'll keep telling you that penis size doesn't either.

Of course physical appearance matters. It's normally our first impression of someone and is why I take the trouble to dress decently and groom myself before going out in public. But the best looks in the world can't make up for an ungly personality. In the end, it's the personality one either likes or dislikes.

I have dated my share of physically attractive people, and I've dated my share of less physically attractive people. I could never spend time with someone who's personality was less than attractive. Most of my good friends in life are the quirky, odd, not-so-beautiful people who are fun to be around.

Ahhhhhhh, late to the party again

I've heard that beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

AND

somedays I feel so ugly that I expect to see a witch when I look in the mirror, and other days I feel so pretty that I expect looking in the mirror would give Liz Taylor a run for her money!!

Bottom line is I'm happy with myself and that's what counts right?

My wife claims she likes me, but I look in the mirror and don't see it. But I will take her word for it, she's the one that has to see me every day...

I thought beauty is in the eye of the beer holder?

Bottom line is I'm happy with myself and that's what counts right?

Exactly.

Thanks.
