Today day day day .I am the happiest skinner inner inner inner at wincustomize.

Thank you all...

When I first began submitting here ratings and dl counts where very important to me.Now I realize ratings are nearly worthless(I have a 6 rated skin with over 60,000 dl's ),and while dl counts are a better indicator of a skins true value,COMMENTS are what really blow up a skinners skirt.

Even the bad ones.I would rather see "thats just ugly" than be ignored. We especially like feedback that is a little more in depth than "great skin"(but we'll take it )(unless its Jafo,if he leaves 3 words, one of which is his name...  you have done well). So if you like something, tell us.And skinners, talk back to them.It gives a warm fuzzy to your commenters when you answer back.(I got a super nice one from MikeB314,it made my day )

oh yeah, the real reason for this post...I just went past a half million in my dl count

Thank you all from I.R. Brainiac(send money...no really, send money,I'm homeless and the police sold my van. )

Excellent point I.R... I have seen more often than not, skinners whinning about getting no comments, yet, when they do get a comment a simple "Thanks" just seems so hard for them to type.. It's a 2 way street, if you get a comment, reply to it, you'll probably get more comments, LoL... Good- Bad or ugly..a comment IS a comment..and *yes they do mean more than ratings!!

Congrats on the half mill, IR....you've done some pretty astounding work and you deserve it, the d/l count and the accolades. "I'm homeless and the police sold my van." I certainly hope this situation improves for you very soon....that you quickly find a place to lay your head and call your own. Sorry I can only offer words of hope and encouragement, tho if you were here in OZ.... Oh, and those damned coppers....shouldn't have been allowed, selling your van like that. They should be made to replace it with one of their own....complete with police band radio so you can arrange to be where they aren't, LoL. (quote button and smilies aren't working for me today)

Humorous and points noted.

Last post 6#....Tman, if you're reading this, post was separated into paragraphs but got all bunched together...and italics aren't working either, just the brackets indicating I tried using them. So that's smilies, quote button, edit and text buttons not working here...using the latest Firefox.

Hiya guys, well at least I can check in once a day at the public library. As for a milestone skin,I'm working at the homeless shelter here in colorado springs on a borrowed IBM thinkpad with win2000,600 mhz proc and 64 mb of memory(with no battery)...this next skin may be a little "off"

I told ya not to leave Texas.

"this next skin may be a little "off""....but it won't be for a lack of trying/effort, hey! Your last one, Not of this Earth, was and is way up the pecking order as far as quality and usability goes....so IF this next one falls a tad short, we'll know 'twas the fault of the equipment, or lack thereof. Thing is, it's great to see you're thinking about skinning in less than ideal circumstances...it shows you're keeping your chin up and making the best of what you've got. More power to you, IR.   Here's hoping and praying, aslong with everyone else here, that it all picks up for you real soon.

Hi I.R.,
Have you checked out my WC guest book yet?
Be careful, if to many people check it out at once,
it could crash the internet.

"Starkers thanks heaps."

You're more than welcome, IR...only wish that I could do more, being on the other side of the globe in Oz doesn't help tho.

Heck I.R. I didn't know. I spent about 6 years being homeless. Lost everything twice. Don't know what your challenges will be, but that's where you will have to place your efforts. Do a good assessment. Stay out of trouble. Be careful who you associate with. Find a program somewhere. Get stablized, get job training, manage your health and get back to work. Heck I still don't own a car. But, I go to work every day. I have a good work record. I pay for my own housing, food and upkeep. And, the proof of proofs that I'm back on track, I hang-up quietly on telemarketers (they just keep calling). From where I was 5 years ago, what I have now seemed impossible. Good Luck!

But they shoot telemarketers, don't they?....

The practise will be 'outlawed' here in Oz next year.. but unfortunately it's an opt-out process.  If they were going to DO IT RIGHT they'd make it 'opt-in' - all marketing prohibited unless the home owner actually gives consent FIRST.

How true! Particularly when we've got pollies and pencil pushers up in arms about text books in schools for children of gay unions, how texts with gender specific family models discriminate, create stigmas and puts them at risk of bullying, isolation.

What an all important priority! They're looking to protect this minority of kids from texts containing gender specific parenting roles, yet kids as young as 12 can divorce their parents, become parents themselves, and draw government benifits which allow them to live in de-facto relationships with adults, drink alcohol, smoke dope and cigarettes.....all with government blessing. Doesn't matter that they're below the age of consent, can't vote or serve the country, no siree, yet it's perfectly okay for them to screw around, pickle themselves in harmful substances, jeapordise their own lives and those of their unborn or newborn children....how's that for prioritising!

Sorry everyone, I'm bitching again, but it makes me so darned angry that governments legislate regarding telemarketing phone calls, etc, while our youth and future is being flushed down the toilet through inaction.

Hi IR

Hope you're holding in there, lived under a hedge myself over 20yrs ago. Done my forces bit and was roaming around wondering what to do next - all at a time of high unemployment etc.

I made it back into the World (for better or worse hehe) and I'm sure at the time, that I didn't have as positive an attitude as you seem to have, or as many friends ......

So wishing ya fair weather and good luck.

*waves* G'day Eric - thanks for the hello mate. I don't want to leave a big footprint on IR's thread - so I'll just take the opportunity to say that I'm fine thanks and extend my very best wishes to you and yours.
